Our friend here @teamsteem had a very strong warning to all of us here, he does not want to see anyone hurt - he has a good heart -- he warned people like others have done to NOT USE POLONIEX for any Steem or SBD transfers right now:

On top of yesterday's warnings we gave you in a post very late last nite (EST which I have included again here today to spread word, the last 24 hours, Poloniex has now also disabled Ethereum wallets!!!!

I use and have regularly used Poloniex charts as an example, at times, for graphic purposes but here is what @teamsteem said in the comments section of my post earlier tonight. I edited that post as it was important to him and I like him - he is a good guy!!

Neither of us, nor others -- want anyone new to crypto or who have been in crypto awhile to get hurt and if you like -- please go look at my wallet and see that I have $500 SBD sitting at Poloniex myself -- that money is my SteemFest money to get to Portugal.

I am writing this warning, with the words and blessing of @teamsteem, showing you that we can all be a TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More! - That we can and should care about each other - and I am working with him to show you--- Steemit family this and we care.

If anyone here does not want you hurt, it is people like me and @teamsteem who have money sitting at Poloniex, I have $500 SBD there and almost as much - so does @teamsteem !!

You can see from my wallet screenshot, I am backing up what I am saying...... my SBD deposit to Poloniex was sent, nearly 12 hours ago, and it is NOT in my Polo wallet!! (Today, June 22nd ~ 12 noon or so)

Poloniex is the biggest exchange going - most people know their name and logo and charts, it was for a graphic illustration only! That's why I use their charts much of the time - people recognize them but man, do they have a lot of problems these days, the news has been everywhere for months, my friends!

I've sent 490 SBD 23 hours ago to @poloniex and I haven't received them. I've triple check my memo code and opened up a ticket to @poloniex to let them know. I also seen a lot of Steemian in the last hours to days who talked about the similar situation.

@barrydutton as soon as you see my comment, correct your title so that it tell people not to sent SBD to Poloniex. Also make a clear warning that it might be the same for Steem as I've also seen people mentioning that the same happened to them in regard to sending Steem to poloniex.

I will remove my flag when you do so and I might even replace it with an upvote.

For what it's worth, I've never had any issues with Poloniex withdrawals, and I've been moving large amounts of XRP and BTC around in the last couple of days. The only complaint I have is that the site has been running a little slow for a few weeks now.

Remember steamians, always have a few platforms in which you buy and sell your cryptos on. Platforms are not always the same and fluctuate in selling price. They are also always changing their fees to transfer cryptos.

Thank you for the warning to all others. Fortunately I only sent around $4 or so worth towards the exchange. Never appeared, but that made me stop before sending over 400 steem a few hours later. It's funny how the prices look manipulated a bit. I mean hell, disabling Steem, SBD and multiple other coins for days now.. that's suspicious.

i have been expecting the large exchanges to struggle under the new global weight of adoption and transactions during this period. these are mostly technical issues with scaling and stability, but of course it is going to scare traders and seem very suspicious! let's ride this out and take it as a positive sign that cryptos are growing too fast for the existing exchanges. i use bittrex personally.

This really sucks, For everyone is the crypto space they where the number 1 exchange for me for well over a year. i really hope they don't close shop with millions in coins/tokens but i keep telling everyone i know to get the coins to their own wallet or another exchange.

My rule is send to exchange get what i need get it off inless it is funds i want to trade with with in the end if i am playing the market i am willing to lose it.
But main thing GET YOUR COINS OFF POLO

I think they sbd and steem withdraw Ann's deposit options have been temporarily down anyways, thank God for that because i sass looking time transfer a bunch. To be honest i have alot of litecoin and steem "pending" in poloniex and its got me nervous, which is code for pissed off haha.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it. They are handling everything. It just takes a little extra time with all of the traffic the website is getting. I personally am pulling my LISK out and sometimes the transaction is instant, and at other times it will pend for a day or so. They have actually improved their speed from a couple of months ago.

It's a great idea but if you look at the numbers across the board for LISK, they honestly are nowhere near the market cap or saturation rate or number of coins of STEEMIT or obv. ETH, so they are never going to have the issues the big coins have.

There was another episode with a Guy who lost 20000$ from bittrex exchange while being online...Don't know what is happening with the exchange and transfer sites. Don't know who to trust and what to do right now. I Pray that The Guy and you both get the problem solved. The poor guy had emotional breakdown as the Bittrex Care were not responding to the call. So Guys be careful out there... This posts is jus a sincere warning to all who use cryptocurrency. Be Extra Careful and Keep Upvoting...Steem on!!!

Thank you for providing an update to the situation. It is scary to think how much value is just sitting in the Poloniex account. I hope this does not turn out like the old days where exchanges got caught just stealing from themselves… Not saying this is happing here, or that I even recall which exchanges did such a thing back in the day. It just alarming to start seeing issues like start to form.

I am also going assume by you resharing this information Poloniex has not come out and made a further statements. Most alarming indeed.

I had 5 Ether in the wind for 5 days. If I had not noticed that it had not arrived, nothing would have been done. Poloniex had marked it "completed" and the Ethereum blockchain showed it had not even been broadcast.

Two days trying to open a ticket, a day waiting, two more after they said they would try resending the transfer. this is getting crazy.

I do know you shared last night's and I wanted this 2nd one 12 hours apart to go up, recover stuff and deal with the ETH issues.

But bittrex gives less bitcoins than poloniex in exchange for steem or SBD....
Shouldn't one wait for poloniex to remove the bug and than use it... As risk is in both exchanges

I saw that, all of the issues you mentioned are on the site as ongoing so I passed on signup. Not sure where to go next. Oh and yeah the rates looked way out of wack. Best to just move on I guess.

@barrydutton I transferred 4 ETH to another wallet from Poloniex but it never arrived. Im still waiting. The transfer said sent immediately after i put in my 2FA. The tx id is totally not found on ethereum block explorer. The ether was however still zeroed out by poloniex.

Aparently many many others have the same issue. This is horrible.

Very informative post. Poloniex sets Deposits and withdrawals to "Temporarily Disabled" when a problem appears. Maybe this is a kind of protection due to the problems appeared.
