Is LITECOIN dead?

in cryptocurrency •  8 years ago  (edited)

In 2010 I first heard about Bitcoin. Unfortunately for me I was not very interested in this phenomenon at that moment.

In april 2014 I started to get interested in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. I bought my first few Bitcoins for around $230. At that time I also invested in a few Litecoins. I bought them for $2.00. In the summer of that same year I saw Litecoin rise to almost $8.00. But after that it declined in comparison to Bitcoin and up untill this moment it keeps doing so.
Now we see a bunch of fancy cryptocurrencies rise in price all over. Litecoin is acting like nothing is happening. It stays at the same price. I was just wondering what this means. Is Litecoin dead, or can we expect a few surprises in the coming months/years?

What are your thoughts on that?

If Bitcoin is like gold, litecoin is like silver. My impression is that litecoin is the second most accepted cryptocurrency by web merchants. I have been using litecoin a lot lately because of its lower fees. I don't think Litecoin is dead. It might be boring and stable but it does its job.

I think LTC is a boring crypto largely due to lack of a serous marketing team to make it look good!

Nice blog. I was about to post a similair thread. Some people say it's a high risk market but if you're willing to hold your coins with a 2 to 5 year vision I bet the risk might not seem that high by then :-). Besides coinmarketcap.com there is: https://www.coincheckup.com Supposingly they researched every crypto coin in the scene based on: the team, the product, advisors, community, the business and the business model. They even score the coins stengths. On: https://www.coincheckup.com/coins/Litecoin#analysis For a complete Litecoin Indepth analysis
