Using Bitcoin for everyday purchases was once seen by the Bitcoin communityas a key step towards mass adoption of Bitcoin. However, that aspiration now seems to have been abandoned in favour of using Bitcoin as a speculative investment.

    That's just economics, right? I'm no expert, but I have bitcoin now. I could spend it, but if I anticipate it might be worth a lot more later, I'll hold on as long as I can...
