I mined Ethereum for 1hour straight on my MacBook Pro. These are my EPIC results:

So I thought it would be fun to try and mine some Ethereum on my MacBook Pro. I was mining for 1hour straight, and these are my results:

I was mining with all 4 cores, at just above 250kh/s for the majority of the time I was mining.

In that 1hour, I mined 0.000001Eth

1 / 0.000001 = 1,000,000

1,000,000 /24 = 41666.666666666666667

41666.666666666666667 / 365 = 114.155251141552511 <<<--- Years to mine 1Eth

118.04 / 114.155251141552511 = 1.0340304

1.0340304 / 365 = 0.00283296

0.00283296 / 24 = 0.00011804 <<<--- How much money you would earn in 1hour mining it

0.00011804 * 6 = 0.00070824 <<<--- How much money you would earn in 6hours mining it

This means that it would take me just over 114 years of solid mining to have finally mined 1Eth, valued currently at $118.04.

My MacBook Pro would also probably fry itself after 6hours.

Lesson: only mine on a MacBook if you want to earn $0.00070824, and then your MacBook Pro gets cooked alive.
