2FA Google authenticator LOST PART 3 LIQUI EXCHANGE, HITBTC

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago

Recently I had some troubles with my phone as it was destroyed. Unfortunatelly for me I had GOOGLE AUTHENTICATOR on it and with it access to a couple of exchanges. As I did not save the recovery codes I had to recover access exchange accounts.

I will describe for each of them (see part 1 and 2) how was the problem solved, hopes this helps anyone with this issue.

LIQUI EXCHANGE: Finally it happened. Your ticket - Google authenticator NOT AVAILABLE - has been closed.

After one MONTH I was finally able to access my Liqui account and if the wait was not bad enough I had to wait 1 day to transfer my funds from liqui.

HITBTC:

First I send a mail to the hitbtc support listed on hitbtc site. There was no answer for a couple of days so I opened a request on https://support.hitbtc.com.

In one day I got a reply:
We can remove the 2-factor authentication from your HitBTC profile, but for security reasons we have to make sure that you are the legitimate account owner.
In order to prove it, please provide us with the information on your recent account activity, e.g. the transaction hash of your latest transaction.
If you want to disable 2-step verification for withdrawal on your account as well, kindly update us with:
- close-up photo of your documents (passport/national ID) - we need to see your personal data and the photo on documents;
- a selfie with your monitor where we will be able to clearly see this request.

I provided the info and it took them 7 days (had to send one more mail to remind them) to solve the issue. Had no problems logging in or transfering my funds.

Have a nice day
