so this is just a personal entry of what I am doing and encountering,
- going through a bit of an ordeal with a seller on ebay as I tried to buy a laser engraver to increase my tool set and options, but got a botched shipment or something as it was missing parts, and by that I mean it was missing frame parts laser, and electronics it seems mostly, not to mention one of the gantry arms was actually broken, mostly because they are using some opensource design with out tweaking it to be sure it is ready for sale, and open source work does not have to be good, no one is paying the researchers and designers shit for their work, so if it works for them fine, if it does not work for you? fix it or dont bitch, right? but if you are selling machines built on this, then you become liable for the faulty design you are using, anyway.
the seller is doing typica delay tactics to try and stall before solving the issue so I guess today I am going to have to lodge a complaint with ebay, and just go to another vendor or something, not sure how this is still going to play out but they might be making the "bad sellers" list since I have been compiling a list of shit sellers and shit buyers,
- finishing up a raspberry pi 3 build so I can run my staking wallets for OKcash and Ohm-wallet on them with out wasting a ton of power, in that I put some huge heat sinks on it for superior passive cooling, did I go to far? let me know in the comments :)
(images and video are all mine, and copyright to me, unless otherwise stated and I will avoid using other peoples work unless its under fair use law like reporting on something, so please don't use these with out contacting me and asking, I really don't want to have to be "that guy")
Video link to a bit of a rotation look at how gargantuan the heat sinks I guess are considered XD
- and on the matter of OKcash, we are finishing up a flyer effort where everyone who participated properly got a bounty that currently amounts to about 12 bucks for just putting up 10 flyers in public, and man the mistakes and failures of other flyer posters, ha, anyway if you want to participate in future events you can find us on https://okcashtalk.org and to see the hilarity and progress of the current project have a look here : https://okcashtalk.org/index.php/topic,2122.0.html
want to keep up with projects we are running? back up one level to the forum board, from that last link to: https://okcashtalk.org/index.php/board,93.0.html
- following HighOnCoins progress more, as we are planning a similar approach so I want to see what works and what failed, and what could be improved on, and honestly if you have a good coin and community, I think any one can do this and it will strengthen the crypto community, so do check it out. https://www.youtube.com/user/HighOnCoins
seems that their slack group was hacked so its gone, and they moved on to greener pastures on discord, where they thrive, though still continue to be infiltrated a bit, but at least I think they are safe from being hacked now, also seems his account has been tampered with not exactly trying to hack it, just trying to cause him trouble by getting it locked from too many failed attempts to log into it, sad really, guy is doing good work I think and the community of all coins would be strengthened by even one coin getting stable and providing good payout for those supporting the network like hodlers running their master nodes would be doing.
I still think staking wallets work fine too, but he likes that "set amount of coins have to be locked down to generate new coins" idea, personally I also think that these will run their course as the payout drops too low or to nothing so something new is going to have to be invented to ensure this progress I guess, but ever inflating currency is and has been a thorn in the development of our economies and cultures for many many years, so how to move forward? hit me up down in the comments section if you have ideas,
I know many might consider something like say RBE (look it up if you don't know what it is or look up the term "Resource Based Economy") I see lots of problems with this model too, one the venus project never addressed so far as I know, was if you have a city starting up this new ideal, how do you stop the masses from outside, from just showing up, emptying all your resources and going outside the city to sell it where the world still runs on some fiat or other currency to make massive profits at the expense of collapsing your fledgling new idea and city? if you go with cards or some such like we have with credit cards or RFID or some other such, you see limits showing up on what people can have and this ensures that the mentality of hoarding will not be diminished, to get there, we need a resource to be as plentiful and easy to get as air is to breath, This is why I am still a proponent of the idea that technology shared like the opensource community does, will be what breaks the bounds of any current economic model leaving us with some sort of credit based system where materials you put into a grid give you credits for that material and you can trade them for credits someone else has for some other material you need for example
john puts in 50 pounds of carbon from grass clippings, leaves raked up and the like, so people can now use it to print out diamond and graphene or meds and food components like sugars
jennifer puts in 3 ounces of gold she dug up in alaska
john needs 3 grams of gold to print out an antenna array he wants to build for his wifi repeater, so he contacts jennifer and asks if he can trade some carbon credits for some gold credits, she agrees to trade 15 pounds of carbon credits for the 3 grams of gold credits and the trade is made so now she can extract the pounds of carbon with her 3D printer to print out some diamond and graphene sandwich panels to use as windows, and john can now print out his antenna using her 3 grams of gold she put in along with the rest of her 3 ounces she still has remaining. (minus the 3 grams)
but again if you have ideas on this or any other solutions, feel free to comment I would love to hear them.
more later, and hopefully it will not be as long before you hear (or read) from me again.
the Architect out.
