Market Wrap: Bitcoin takes a breather, Ether clears resistance and first BUILDTEAM auction an overwhelming success

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hey everyone, hope you all had a great weekend and congrats to everyone who got involved in the first BUILDTEAM auction!

Preliminary results suggest the project has been an overwhelming success, with participants receiving ~1.7 STEEM per BUILD. That equates to about $2.20 USD, which is almost identical to the last price on the BTS market. Steemians who bought in at 7.5 last week have doubled their money and must be pretty happy XD

Anyway, here's the latest happenings in ...

Crypto Markets

BTCUSD took a little breather yesterday after Saturday's massive bullish breakout. Pair finished the day slightly lower at 3230, just 20 points shy of Saturday's record close. The textbook breakout play is waiting for a test of former resistance, except that is all the way down at 2800-3000, and I'd be very surprised if we trade that low. Holding long from 3125, looking for some serious continuation over the coming days and weeks:

ETHUSD has finally broken above the 225-250 zone and Ether is currently fetching just over 260 USD. Good news for bulls, though whether or not they can take it back to the record highs remains to be seen. Pair remains bullish above 190/200:

STEEMBTC is looking a little heavy at support, but this is on the back of significant Bitcoin strength and two days of maintenance at Bittrex. This maintenance would have led to abnormal selling interest, as STEEM holders were forced to exchange for other coins in order to withdraw. Bittrex is now hooked into tradingview, so I will be using their charts going forward - we have support confluence in the 33-40 zone, with a break above 50 needed to shift focus to the topside:

Currently fetching $1.74 AUD, up a few cents since Saturday. Also a little against the Dollar, fetching $1.34 from $1.30. Steem Dollars are trading at a slight discount, you can pick them up for 98c on the Dollar at Bittrex.

That's me for the day folks. Congrats again to all the BUILDTEAM auction participants! Next round of bidding kicks off with the pot announcement on September 3 00:00 UTC.

I am actually long on everything and holding everything, it is probably a mistake or maybe not.
I could sell ETH when it was 400$ but i didn't (bought my ETH at 88$ back in May) i could sell also other coins that were high Golem steem riple ...etc,. i guess that one can do some day trading and make/lose some money but me personally i don't.
when prices go down i just buy some more
I wish i had more time to play with the cryptos ...but having a day job I cannot

I long ETHER

Nice - I long BITCOIN :)

I long Bitcoin, Ether, and Ripple ;)

I seriously need to learn how to buy :)

Learn how to buy ze what? ze BUILDTEAM?

My first cryptocurrency :)

Based on Ichimoku indicator, we have a new buy signal. We can place pending orders for buy above 280.00 level with stop orders below 214.00 level. Profit target should be at 360.00 level. These long trades must be opened as an additional volume for the existing long positions. Be ready that the market can retrace to the kumo and the uptrend line. It will give new trading opportunity.

I'm quite excited about the bullish prospects of ETH/USD.

Now price has broken above 250.00 resistance (and retested already on the intraday) I'm looking for it to continue up alongside Bitcoin.

Yeah I'm considering splitting into Ether, but I'm still note sure ... there's more charted upside potential, but I am much more confident about this Bitocoin break ... will continue to mull it over

Bitcoin is going to pull ETH up with it too remember.

Yeah, it's already benefiting a little, but there is clear divergence. When I was long ETH in May/June, it was outperforming, now it is seriously lagging. The ICO dramas and thefts really knocked sentiment for 6 and Vitalik seems more concerned with critiquing Steem and EOS than addressing ETH's technical shortcomings. Still considering longs though.

Great posts can be useful can be used as experience. Hope be a friend who can help me to be like you ..... to realize the dream and hope in reaching. Likes @sinta need friend support. Greetings esteem.

Bitcoin is doing great again. But I believe that eventually we need to realize that we can't continue to have tunnel vision with Bitcoin. At the end of the day, there are many other coins out there that are doing some pretty impressive things, especially in regards to accelerating technology.

Definitely, but Bitcoin is quickly becoming the US Dollar of the crypto world.

That's what I'm afraid of. We have tunnel vision...this infatuation with just 1 coin, no matter it's value is still a little bit dangerous. These other coins do interesting things and we need to keep a spread in our portfolio.
