Senno — A Unique Project In A Sea Of Similarity

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago  (edited)

I first published this article on Medium. It was almost immediately ghosted as "spam", which you can clearly see that it is NOT. After some research I now see that Medium has been actively censoring cryptocurrency content, from ICO reviews to simple code reviews. I will be leaving the Medium platform indefinitely. With that out of the way, let's move on to the project I'm going to discuss.

This project is called Senno, and it’s about to enter into ICO. It is essentially a big data and crowd wisdom platform with MUCH lower entry costs that allow it to cater to individuals and smaller companies. You may know that companies like Facebook and Google can gauge the mood and sentiment of crowds that interact with their platforms to some limited degree, but what you may not know is that it costs millions of dollars per year and is closed source, not to mention very niche. Most companies today still rely on surveys for all of their data. I work in a survey-driven industry and can tell you first hand that surveys mean jack squat.

Senno aims to change that. Senno will allow anybody to create an application on it’s platform through an SDK and open API. It is based on the NEO blockchain so it does not require any expensive hardware or data centers, which allows it to be fully transparent and tamper-proof as well as provide costs that are less than 1/100th what many sentiment analysis companies charge. We’re talking about costs as low as $100 per month.

In addition to that, it focuses more on the “mood” of the crowd and can accurately assess the emotions of millions of users. If you ask Google how people feel about bitcoin today, it will give you links to articles. If you ask Senna, it will provide you details about general sentiment and the delta (rate of change) of that sentiment based on the most important data sources the platform identifies. As a developer, you can design apps to use the Senno engine for any industry or use. For example, the first one will be called CryptoScanner. This app provides crypto trading signals based on crowd sentiment. An example is used in the Senno whitepaper about a news item regarding bitcoin, the increase in positive sentiment and buzz, and the resulting price increase.

I can imagine a scenario where all kinds of different apps are developed. For example, maybe one where you can gauge the mood of a city or neighborhood you’re considering moving to. I don’t know about you, but I would want to move somewhere people are mostly happy. The possibilities are limited only by human creativity, which is unlimited.

As for the token sale itself, the public sale is starting in about 17 days as of this writing. The hard cap looks like it’s about $24M. Not tiny by any means, but any unsold tokens will be burned. And if you actually care about the success of a project, you won’t want them to have some tiny hard cap that will barely keep the lights on for a year. You can find token sale details, team details, white paper, social media links etc. on the the official Senno website at https://senno.io/

Thanks for reading! I also have a YouTube channel, and I will be publishing a video about Senno very soon. You can see my channel here: https://www.youtube.com/dnorthro
