Where are my ICO Tokens? - HALP!

Hello Steemers and Viewers, in this video tutorial, I share some troubleshooting on how to find your ICO tokens.

Several things can go awry when participating in an ICO so that you would be unable to find your ICO tokens.

  • Did you send to the right contract address for the ICO?
  • Did you send within the timing window for the ICO?
  • Check https://etherscan.io/ to see if you really sent the funds and you sent them to the correct address.
  • Use the Token Transfers tab on https://etherscan.io/ to see any ICO tokens that may have been transfered to your account. (If the Token Transfers tab is missing, this means you have no standard tokens transferred to your ETH address.)
  • If the tokens show up on https://etherscan.io/ but not in your wallet, follow the steps in the video on how to add tokens into Metamask or MyEtherWallet.
  • Some ICO's like EOS require you claim your tokens after a window closes. A prior video of mine shows how to claim tokens for Metamask. This new video shows how to claim them for https://www.myetherwallet.com/
  • Other ICO's like Tezos give you a generated wallet to hang onto until the Tezos network goes live.

Enjoy the video!

Great information. Love the check list as it consolidates potential issues for the new user entering into ICO purchases or is just a great checklist to make sure you're covering all the bases. Great post as always and much appreciated! Re-Steemed. This can help a lot of people!

Nice thanks for the helpful vid!

Thank you for the information, I am a new at this and without your posts I would have never been able to get in the EOS ICO. thanks again.

Very useful information :-) can you pls do a post about Steemit hard fork...

Actually did a while back, not so much explaining it, but just sharing how much it improved payouts.

☺️👍

Thank you for this great video. I have never participated in an ICO before, but it will not be long.

Good man crypto... keep up the good work.. I am at the starting my journey in relation to crypto. How long should it take to learn to do an ICO?

I think the right way to start with crypto is to have a solid grasp of the main coins. Like the top 10 on http://coinmarketcap.com/ . Also have a solid understanding of how to use wallets for coins. Pick a coin, download their wallet and learn about public and private keys. On coinmarketcap.com it shows a link under each coin for their block explorers. You should be able to use a block explorer a little bit before trying an ICO. And if it's your first time trying an ICO, maybe put a small amount into it just to make sure you are following the steps right so you don't lose a lot of funds.

You are a top guy, thanks

This may come useful if I ever jump into an ICO, thanks!

I have to say you are one of the best in the "Crypto Investment for Dummies" area, and in analysing the different projects from an investor point of view. I really enjoyed each and one of your articles.
Thank you and Keep up the good Work
BTW: I wait for your Antshares / Neo analysis. You have not done it yet, have you not?

Antshares makes almost no sense to me except it is Asian. When I looked at it, sounded like the exact same thing we already have. Since it is Asian it will do well from a marketing perspective because Asians like crypto and understand it. As a person in the US, though, I wouldn't really see much need for it. In the US, we can use ETH, soon Tezos, in a year or so EOS, plus the other smaller projects like Lisk and Horizon which do smart contracting as well. It's redundant technology as far as I am aware. Redundant tech is fine, especially when it's marketing itself to a different cultural geographic, but since I don't understand the cultural reasons for owning Antshares, not much I can say about it.

hey man thanks for making this post.

I am still not having any luck finding my EOS tokens. I used the MetaMask plugin like they suggested.

I have a record of it being sent to the correct contract.

Here's the problem. After following your guide step by step 3 times. I am missing a very important link. The tokens tab beside the comments tab. I don't have it.

Any advice, I must be doing something wrong.

From the metamask I can click and it take me directly to the etherscan.io block and contract.

I'm kind of frustrated. Been looking for couple days now. I see it went tot the right contract so I guess my tokens still in limbo.

What is going on there is that token tab only shows up if you have token transfers into that address. So this means there were no tokens transferred to your account. Which ICO was this? If it was EOS, you got to claim the tokens.

Yes, it was EOS the block scan even says EOS contract right in it, i never typed that, it just says that. So seems lost my ETH. sucks. I had a bad feeling when I tried it out. I dont understand why this is happening.

I guess there's no official support.

So you sent the 2nd transaction to claim your tokens from EOS and they were never sent? If you participated in a later window, have to wait until a window closes to claim all tokens too.

Great video on helping people in need with finding their tokens.

Thank you so much for the information, I'm willing to participate in an ICO, what do you think about Monetha?
