Voting with Blockchain may soon be reality!

In Western Virginia there are a lot of members of military service who can not vote all by themselves. That's why the state tests the mobile voting app. As a result, it will become the first state to challenge mobile participation in the federal election using blockchain.

Secretary of State Mack Warner made an announcement on the safe military voting application developed for May 8th elections. This is a pilot project and, therefore, will be limited to two counties, namely for Harrison and Monongalia. Starting from March 23, 2018, military voters will be able to vote with this system until the polling day on May 8th, 2018 when it will be closed. Only Apple's or Android's regular smartphone and approved federal or state ID is needed for voting.

The goal of the project is to offer the military making decisions with mobile voting , which is unprecedented, direct, more secure and more open than currently available mobile voting systems. Initially, this application will be limited to military voters who are abroad. In this way they will be able to vote for Harrison and Monongalia. In any event, the State plans to run the program in 55 countries, if, of course, this pilot project will be a success.

This pilot initiative is the first in the United States. Warner said that "West Virginia is initiating the introduction of safe, secure and accurate voting systems in order to facilitate voter engagement at all levels."
