My Experience Talking to a Millionaire 16 Year Old Day Trader!!

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago

Hey guys! I recently found a young man on reddit (16 years old) who has made over 200 times his initial investment in about 1 year!! We talked a bit on Reddit before hitting the PMs, before he added me on Discord.

His initial query was asking about day trading COSS, should he do it? I assumed he was a newbie to crypto, but after a short conversation trying to educate him, he seemed to be more insightful than me!!

He said he used to day trade and was very successful, before getting burnt by TRX, as he sold and it went up like 20 times or something, so he quit day trading for a bit. He says he goes by the rule never sell at a loss, and never buy higher than you sold, if the coin mooned and left you behind, it's gone. He has 0 education in technical analysis but has made over 100% in btc value trading btc to usdt in the last week, the kid is insane! But he tries super hard to not leave a digital foot print, he admitted that he makes a new reddit account each time he posts and even made a new discord to add me! He claims his friends don't know anything about his fortunes, they just know he buys "fake money". Seems fishy, could be a liar about who he is but was still an interesting chat!

After making some trades on COSS, I walked away 800 COSS richer and he walked away about 1.2k COSS richer, damn kid beat me, so now I have to do this... (if I won he said he'd give me triple the COSS I beat him by!!) (proof was sent via parts of his purchase history and before and after COSS balance).

I'M WORSE THAN A 16 YEAR OLD AT DAY TRADING

But hey, I'm only 18, so in 10 years time it won't mean much anymore he's better than me as 26 and 28 doesn't seem like as much of a gap as 16 and 18 LOL

Hope you enjoyed the read!!

A lot of us are worse than both of you at day trading, learn it young, you guys are the future. I hope you figure out a way to get me some social security checks after the gernation in front of me burns all that money :)

LOL that's true, maybe day trading is like learning a language, gotta do it while you're young!!
Thanks for the comment! I'm really happy to see that people actually read my stuff, don't forget to follow to be in the running to win weekly Steem! More details here!!

just wow. I can't imagine how he has done it. I'm also a newbie and trying to learn day trading but I don't really know if I'm on the right track. Is it alright if I ask advice from you? 😁

Hi! I'm not very good at it either... but I get by haha

Basically, buy low sell high! Buy a bit at a dip, if it keeps dipping buy more, if it keeps dipping buy more! Basically, my biggest mistake at the start was going all in during a "dip", 90% of the time it would keep dipping, and I'd panic and sell and then it'll rebound just as a sell and i hit a wall LOL

Buy and sell in parts, don't sell all of it until you're happy with your profits and don't go all in unless you're 99% certain this is the end of the dip or you're 99% sure it'll rebound passed that point.

Also, selling at a loss is another thing that you gotta consider sometimes. I was stuck with bitcoin cash for about 2 weeks because I didn't wanna sell at a loss, missed many good opportunities!!

This is all I have to say right now, maybe later I'll write a guide LOL

Note: I have NO education in daytrading, i go 100% by "feel", no technical analysis or anything
I've made about 25 times my initial investment in 5 months but most of it has been due to hodling, not day trading (although my day trading days have been quite successful as long as I don't go all in at the start of a "dip")

Thank you for the tips! LOL I was also stuck for 2 weeks, but in my case, it was BTG. I'll try to study the ladder selling :) Currently, I strictly follow my rule where I sell once I gained 1-2% mark-up per transaction. It might look small, but it grows exponentially. I don't know if there are others who are also doing this or this is a good strategy. I will be looking forward to your guide :D Cheers!

I'm 16 yrs old as well and getting the jist of day trading and reading the charts/ technical analysis!

16 year old crushing it at day trading. Good job I guess. I would not be able to handle all the stress that comes with day trading crypto.

I like to make money, not trade. I do not want to lose my savings in one day of trading

both you guys are good.. I just made 0.25 eth in 7 days in trading steem ..not big profit
