Climb aboard! There might be a little turbulence right now, but once we take off, it will be smooth sailing.
Overview:
Stellar is looking to become the dominant peer to peer (P2P) payment system with a concentration on remittances. There is a LOT of competition in this area so early adoption is key. The United States is the key player in this game because it is the world leader for sources of remittances. Sentiment and buzz about this coin in the U.S. is already huge and sure to grow with time. The Stellar team is also working on getting the rest of the world on board. Ella Qiang of the XLM team is leading strategic partnerships in China, which is second only to India in the amount of received remittances in 2017. Tunde Ladipo of the team was helping develop Nigeria before working for Stellar. Nigeria is the top receiver of remittances in Africa, and in 2014 Nigeria became the largest economy in Africa after it surpassed South Africa. Africa as a whole is a key player in remittances with around $40B sent to the continent annualy.
Stellar has been developed with a ground up platform and there are multiple developing tools and instructions readily available and easy to find for developers to build off of. Most Cryptocurrencies are open source these days, it is a requirement to make it in this changing world, but the Stellar website has the clearest instructions on how to develop on their platform that I have ever seen. Again, this goes back to early adoption. If developers are able to easily code for the platform it will spread quickly. There are three use cases were Stellar is already implemented. One of them, Deloite, built a platform that is as easy to use as Venmo and reduced transaction costs by 40%.
Sentiment:
In the states Stellar is the name I have heard the most out of the P2P exchanges. There was already a postive article in coinspeaker this year. Their blog is up to date including an article from October announcing a partnership with KlickEX and freakin IBM! KlickEx is located in New Zealand and is an established payment service for the Polynesian Islands. Doing a broad search reveals no FUD for XLM.
What gives coin value:
Demand. As the network grabs the attention of major markets, which it already has a good start, demand will grow exponentially. $436B was sent to developing countries in the form of remittances in 2014. That is an old figure and the number is only going to grow.
Technical analysis:
The symmetrical triangle is an anomaly due to overreaction. As with every other alt-coin this one grew very inorganically over the past few weeks and we are seeing a correction at the moment. Generally speaking when a stock breaks out of its symmetrical triangular support lines it continues the trend it was on before the triangle formed, which would be a slight downturn but overall up.
These candlesticks are in a 6 hour timeframe so if you were to buy at the lower resistance level, which should be reached in the next 1-2 days (Jan 14th to Jan 15th), I suspect you would be entering at a good time even if it does continue the slight bear trend it was in before the triangle formed. With the markets in turmoil it is incredibly hard to tell what any of these altcoins are going to do short term but with the widespread implementation Stellar has in front of them, this coin can see major gains over the next few years.
Conclusion:
Stellar has almost every corner of the globe in their sights and with their amazing team, partnerships, and momentum I see no reason why they can’t become the dominant P2P payment system. If you have not already bought some I would suggest tucking some deep into your portfolio and only looking at it every once in a while. This could very well be one of the top three coins of all time, if everyone climbs aboard their rocket ship.

Always be vigilant by paying attention to your investments while at the same time picking out the FUD & FOMO and ignoring it. The best plan is to be happy with modest positive returns and if you happen upon a lambo, so be it.
