Ice Rock Mining: Plans for Next Generation Mining Rigs

The timing for Ice Rock Mining’s start up is very good as Bitmain and other companies are on the cusp of releasing their next generation mining rigs. The release of the next generation rigs will all but render the current widespread S9 Antminer rigs obsolete.

In its latest YouTube video Dias Kurmanov lets the Ice Rock Mining community know that the company is looking to the future and interested in setting up its mining farm with the newest and most powerful machines.

The company “has a road to the moon” says Dias as they are looking at buying the next generation Swiss developed A-1 Pro liquid cooled mining rigs.

Throughout March and early April Ice Rock Mining set up ~150 S9 Antminer machines in its underground bunker inside a mountain preparing for its July 2018 mining launch. Based on the space inside the cave it was estimated that it could accommodate up to 5,000 S9 mining rigs when it reaches full capacity. This would be one-fifth the size of larger Chinese bitcoin mining farms that house up to 25,000 miners.

The use of new liquid cooled mining rigs however is a “game changer” for Ice Rock Mining.

Dias Kurmanov estimates that just one next generation Swiss mining rig has the equivalent computer hashing power of 740 older-style S9 mining rigs.

If this is true then Ice Rock Mining only needs to set up 7-8 of the newer mining rigs to equal its initial white paper hash power generation it planned by having 5,000 S9 mining rigs set up in its cave.

If Ice Rock Mining sets up just 34 of the new mining rigs then it will equal the size of the largest Chinese bitcoin mining server farms hashing power.

Even starting with a small number of A-1 Pro machines, say 100, it will see Ice Rock Mining surpass its original overall planned mining capacity by fifteen times (the equivalent of 74,000 S9 machines).

Moreover, if Ice Rock Mining eventually builds its mining farm with A-1 Pro rigs to its originally planned total of 5,000 machines it would be the equivalent of 3.7 million S9 rigs inside of its cave.

By using the newest mining rig technology the company can realize incredible hashing power by using even modest numbers of the A-1 Pro mining rigs.

The timing for Ice Rock Mining to adopt the next generation mining rig will allow it to compete with and surpass any existing S9 mining farm for hashing power.

It is unclear when the new A-1 Pro mining rigs will become available and in what quantity or how waiting for these new machines may impact the overall mining farm set up timeline. There are no details of the electric capacity needed for next generation machines but this likely will not be an issue as Ice Rock Mining has some of the lowest hydroelectric power rates world-wide (at 0.03 USD Kwh). The reliability/up-time of next generation machines and their degree of maintenance are also unknowns.

Investors must realize that building a mining farm will be an ongoing, long-term process. The company can begin with its S9 Antminers, as planned, and transition to next generation machines when they become available to expand its growing farm.

Ice Rock Mining ROCK2 tokens remain a strong buy.
