How to: TenX multi-currency debit card!

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago  (edited)

Today i just wanted to share a really awesome company, investment and product i have been following and ordered myself - which is tenx.tech

The company's mission is to make any blockchain asset spendable, instantly, which in practice means that by using their product you could shop in any shop in the world - digital or physical - and with a swipe of a finger choose which of your currencies you would like to pay in (e.g. bitcoin, ethereum, doge etc.)

Here an example paying DASH at McDonalds:

This is pretty awesome, and notice how it is not neccesary for McDonalds to actually know that you are using crypto, as tenx handles that part for you.

So. How do they do it and how can you get their credit card as well and start using your crypto more fluently instead of having to go to fiat first with expensive fees etc.?

Well, this is still in development, but basically this is a two-parter. First of all they are creating an underlying network called COMIT network which will work as a toplayer on top of other blockchains and serve to connect them. The COMIT network is not a blockchain in itself but should be thought of as a protocol enabling the different blockchains to talk and work together. It is out of the scope of this post to go into depth with how the network is going to operate as it is fairly technical, but if you guys request it i will do my best to explain it in more understandable words in a coming post. For now, here is their website http://www.comit.network/.

The second part, is the company TenX themselves who makes the the app and physical card that you can order directly from the app. The reason why they have separated the network from their core business is to make sure that the network will remain neutral, and yes competitors and colleagues will be able to join the COMIT network as it is critical for the long-term adoption, and TenX will probably move more in the direction of being a new economy bank, using this network to make sure that you can pay in any currency you want.

TenX app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.onebit.app

So all in all pretty exiting. I have ordered the physical card myself which i will receive in the coming week and start using. I will post again soon to let you guys know how the experience goes - ps. i live in Denmark so this i were the main testing will be done.

Let me know if you have the card or have any experiences to share :)

Ps. they have a pretty chilled out youtube vlog series if you want to get the know the team
