Yesterday evening I joined the OriginTrail meetup @ Bar Lempicka in Amsterdam. Since the weather was awesome (for Dutch standards) we could sit outside the whole time, pretty nice!
Impression: this is us with some beers :-)
Meetups like these are my personal favourite. I like to meet people in person to be able to discuss ideas in real life. The setup of yesterdays meetup was very informal and the group wasn't too big. This generally means the quality of the interaction goes up and there is time to discuss some things more in-depth.
OriginTrail is a project that I follow since its ICO (disclaimer: I invested and still hold). Besides the fact that I think supply chain projects are one of the best use cases of blockchain, I particularly like the way OriginTrail manages the project. It has a solid and professional way of approaching things, especially when it comes to marketing and communications. Humble (is this a Slovenian thing?), no hyping, no announcements of announcements, no nonsense.
Next to learning a few new things about OriginTrail and the philosophy behind the project, I also got to know some others who are active in the space, including Steemian @hasse72. Always cool to hear what they are paying attention too and what their thoughts are on what is happening in the space.
Maja and Nino from OriginTrail know their stuff and know the space well. It was great to meet them in person. Thanks for organising the meetup!
Until next time :-)

Hey @cryptotem,
I agree! It was a meetup worth attending...
I will certainly look further into the Origin protocol for a specific use case...
Also the other projects presented at the preceding meetup at the oude Stadstimmertuin were inspiring: AgriLedger empowering local farming cooperatives, Unchain fighting counterfeit drugs,...
There is a lot like this to be shared...especially with folks not familiar with blockchain too... to spread awareness of what's happening, sometimes around the corner :).

Do not underestimate the power of beer: Many great ideas have been shared over a glass or ten ;)

Beers? I don’t see any beers? Only some yellow liquid with a little foam in glasses with a Dutch brand on it 😂
Wasn’t Jupiler available?
It looks indeed a very decent project. Curious how it will evolve and how it cab compete with its competitors!

Hahaha, no Jupiler only Brand and Heineken, and some 'speciaalbiertjes' ;-)
We'll see indeed. Since the project is blockchain agnostic (although first based on Ethereum now), it could be an interesting complementary one for existing supply chain focused projects.

If you even have the chance to try Karmeliet, just do it!
I can highly recommend it.
I am keeping an eye on Origin Trail. It is funny from one side and not funny from the other side, that in the Netherlands there are a lot of blockchains popping up but that there is a rather silence in Belgium. Again we are running some steps behind!

According to me best beer in the world! I do drink too much of them though!
We are going to an international football tournament in Zwolle in the beginning of June. We will have a meeting next week about the food arrangement (mothers) and the beer arrangements (dads). So, if you can advice a good dutch special beer, let me know :)

Very cool! As a dutch person I apologize for the tiny expensive beers in Amsterdam :)

This is the reason why TRAC Team are having so much ideas and projects, they were working while enjoying. Communicating with each other is the key to a successful project and that's what OriginTrail has.
