What to invest in long term

Given the recent pump in ethereum resulting from traditional institutions looking to profit from the cryptocurrency frenzy, a trend is starting to emerge. If bitcoin is the new gold, the blockchain technology is the new internet. You can expect a rise in price of any blockchain (or DAG) technology that can be integrated into existing financial infastructures. What should you invest in? If you were an existing financial institution that wanted to integrate crypto tech into your service (either for the cool factor or to actually solve a problem), which crypto techs would you embrace? It won't be anything to replace money, so rule out any crypto that is only geared to replacing fiat. It won't be anything to replace services aleady provided efficiently in the market, so rule out all the cypto that want to disrupt the market. That leaves only illegal activities and areas where crypto eliminates the need for trust without adding other hurdles. So look to dark markets, feeless microtransactions, and financial arbitration. As bitcoin goes more mainstream and governments start to monitor most crypto activities, dark money like monero and zcash will start to appreciate in value. The winner here will be determined by who creates the most user friendly apps first. For microtransactions, the winner will come from the person that manages to corner the institutional markets first. Ripple is making a play for it, but i don't think they will succeed. Finally, for financial arbitration, you need both sides. You have to appeal to retail customers who want to transact with their peers without having to rely on trust or third party platforms that collects data and money for using their platform. You also have to appeal to institutions that transact with customers or other istitution where there is potential for conflict. Salt is a good example of this, but they will either be bought out by a large institution or copied by them and be unable to compete.
