I blogged about the idea before of a console/miner which allows gamers to get paid to play games. The strategic implications of the idea was not quite understood. So now I present it in a different way....
Suppose Nvidia decides to release a new GPU which every owner may register. By registering (with your real name) you get an account on their blockchain. The more of these GPUs you buy from them, the more Nvidia coins you can mine. Nvidiacoins would be coins mined using Nvidia GPUs just like any other GPU mining, but done in such a way so that the miners cannot be anonymous.
Contrast this with an open source open hardware alternative which we can called OHC. OHC is mined with a yet to be determined chipset designed to be the best in class GPU/CPU. The specification for this chipset should be created to be the basis of a gamer's paradise while also allowing the gamer to mine while they play. So the gamers earn money to play games. Social media can be built in, just like with Steam for either the Nvidiacoin or OHC.
What are your thoughts on this idea?
Would be cool. All companies pls 👍. Amazon should do it so Bezoz gets out of his reputation of being too greedy

But they dont sell gaming consoles which double as mining platforms.

yeah i like it and surely at some point they are gonna have to have a blockchain for their 'brands' -- are you ati or nvidia kinda thing, while you play a little bit of mining could happen or while in replay mode or depending on what cards you have you could have a schedule when your not gaming but overnight, they could also use that as a reference of how well their kit is performing in what boards over what period of time, use it to check batchs of kit vs distribution 'in the field' -- that data must have a value to it -- but yes, i like it AND it could totally bring new meaning to having a clan if you could compete for real mined coins by gaming! ;)
