The FUD is strong so far in 2018, and there isn't much the average investor can do except ride the wave (that has mostly been a sinking ship). However, I am still very optimistic about 2018 as a whole, and I encourage you all to look at it the same way.
Blockchain technology (and evolutions of it) WILL change the world as we know it (but not like Carlos Matos thinks...). We have blockchain tech companies like VeChain with partnerships such as BMW and PwC. We have Ripple (whether you like it or not) that is being tested all across the banking and money transfer sectors. We have Litecoin and its LitePay feature, whenever that decides to fully launch. There are also countless others, but you get my drift- the crypto revolution is coming, and no one is going to stop it. Blockchain and associated technologies will shift and shape the future of our global society.
Now, how does that pertain to our dwindling investment portfolios this year? Well, let's look at the bright side- it's only March. We have 9 whole months of potential gains to make, and I think we will all be laughing at this at the end of the year. I know it is easy to get distracted by the seemingly coordinated media FUD, but when you have the likes of Ellen, John Oliver, Stephen Colbert, and many others doing entire segments about cryptocurrency- you know it is picking up steam (no pun intended).
Stay patient folks, the BTC speed wagon (see what I did there) is coming, and if you're still here it will gladly take you to the promised land.

Absolutely correct. No doubt, when blockchain is mentioned on cable or main stream media outlets, they usually only mention bitcoin. True, bitcoin drives the market, however, my opinion is of two parts. One: the producers or writers don’t understand enough about cryptocurrencies and blockchain to speak more on it OR...the marketing schemes of these outlets is intent on creating FUD to let this great technology take hold when they want it to. THEY being the oligopolistic companies that control the majority of consumer actions.
