The Art of War by Sun Tzu is a classic military script written during the warring era in China, composed of thirteen chapters devoted to aspects of warfare strategy and tactics. Sun Tzu is known as a Chinese military strategist praised for his brilliance and deep understanding of war. The Art of War has been passed down from generations to generations, studied and applied to real life situations, from wars to business. I am going to implement my thoughts of the chapters to crypto trading situation and apply it to my own crypto trading war.
I will be posting my thoughts and implementation on steemit to motivate myself to dig deeper understanding and persistence to complete my goal. I also hope it can contribute something to the community, I will try my best to not mention any currency to avoid leading/misleading trade. I won't be making a direct translation, rather how I understand about it.
Chapter 1
孫子曰：兵者，國之大事，死生之地，存亡之道，不可不察也。
- As stated by Sun Tzu, war is a state's important matter, a matter of life and death, ways of survival thus must not be taken lightly.
-- It is an exaggeration if we put trading as a matter of life and death, however to a trader it is ways to survival since it is the source of income for a trader
故經之以五（事），校之以計而索其情：一曰道，二曰天，三曰地，四曰將，五曰法。
- So by five factors, one must study and assess to compare with enemy on each's strength : first is Way, second is sky, third is ground, fourth is general and fifth is law.
-- With these five factors traders can assess the strength of a currency (crypto currency) and ICO, or to compare between currencies to trade
道者，令民與上同意，可與之死，可與之生，而不畏危也。
- The Way, alignment of intention between the people and the authority towards a common goal, by so the people will be willing to live or die but fear no danger.
-- The first factor is the Way, by this we can assess the strength of a currency (crypto currency) from the developers behind the project. The developers that are able to bring the community together by envisioning them the goal they can walk together towards, backed by concrete plans and skills will surely be able to grow their project and strengthen their position from temporary market setbacks. Coinholders will gladly hodl on any FUD thrown at them, having faith and trus in the currency they're holding. No matter how good a currency is, without community support will not grow and fall any time
天者，陰陽、寒暑、時制也。
- The Sky, yin yang, cold and heat, seasons change. To adapt or go against will be a deciding factor.
-- Adaptability is vital to assess the strength of a currency (crypto currency). The market is constantly facing changes and those able to adapt will stay strong on the path and retain community's faith. Showing the ability to adapt shows the ability to grow. However those that go against might open up new opportunity and make a breakthrough.
地者，高下、遠近、險易、廣狹、死生也。
- The Ground, high and low, far and near, dangerous and easy, wide and narrow, dangers and safety.
-- Measuring the strength of a currency (crypto currency) from its battleground, its accessibility to the community to the traders. The more exchanges it is listed on, the more ease of mining, the more goods or services payment acceptance the stronger it is
將者，智、信、仁、勇、嚴也。
- The General, possession of traits of wisdom, trustworthy, benevolence, courage, discipline.
-- Raw ability of the developers on the subject is important, but also the wisdom to make correct choices, able to show the moral integrity and positive traits, avoid over hypers and unable to keep promises made and cowards when problems occur.
法者，曲制、官道、主用也。
- The Law, organization effectiveness, chain of command, uses of expense.
-- Structure of organization and delegation of task is very important in a project's journey, to avoid conflict and assigning the right man in the right place. This will ensure the longevity of the project, thus growth of the currency
