U ever think that this thing still isn't mainstream? I talked to 4 of the biggest nerds @ my workplace today only 2 of them have even heard of crypto. I'm not a tech savvy person at all. The difference between me and them is education. Education in what? Education in the dysfunction of the financial system and handling money as a whole. I've never put a dime into this i couldn't afford to lose. Sorry truth is that most people live paycheck to paycheck. Guess what that means? They have NO MONEY TO LOSE. It's not that they want to get rich quick, it's that they need to make quick money cuz the money they invest isn't funds they can afford to lose or wait to mature. These mindsets are continents apart. If i had met u and you said "grind" i would have been on-board. don't give up on people ever tho!! They are the only thing you got....

Well, that is another thing I see a lot of. The claim that "dysfunction of the financial system" is some how why "most people live paycheck to paycheck". But the fact is the real problem is "most people live paycheck to paycheck". If you come into Crypto with the idea that bad money management works you won't do well in Crypto, you just won't. At the end of the day, it is a choice. Most who live "paycheck to paycheck" actually do have "MONEY TO LOSE". But they come to Crypto because they hear some are getting rich, well those of us who are doing so, are grinding away earning a steady return while paying the bills. Investing in doing that instead of eating out or cable TV. As you said these "mindsets are continents apart". I started with like $5 and over the course of years eventually got to a point that I could make this my living. But yes things are not yet mainstream: I think the estimate is about 6% to 10% are involved in any meaningful way at this time. Less for thier living.

Good point about the dysfunction of the financial system. I'm quick to throw that in the mix cuz of my substantial self-education of our fiat "money" system. Your'e right to question that facts relevance during this discussion. Most folks choose not to learn about money and how to handle it. That's about all you need to know to see who is gonna make it or not.

Ya, I never tend to be for "the system" as the source to blame, because I consider it the same thing as claiming in US Football "if only it was soccer/football, then the ball going under the post would have counted". At the end of the day, you are in the game/system you are in, and need to make the moves that count for the game/system you are playing with. There are PRO and CON to FIAT, but most gov currencies are a fractional reserve system. While academically we can debate about if that is ideal Vs good Vs bad; at the end of the day, it is more an IT IS.
No real way to get around that. Understanding the pro and con of those systems is one of the key points to understanding what moves make sense in Crypto Vs Gov curancy. Far to many, treat that as a zero sum winner take all, when in reality it is not that.

No debate necessary. We seem to quite agree!

Seems to be more or less true, but the real trillion unit of currency of your choice question is how do we get most people to look at these things more with common sense than hype and what not? Understanding the cycles is one thing, stopping them or helping people escape them is quite another...

I'm not sure you can. Some people just don't have a mind to manage money. Specially w/money become just a specter, that comes in plastic and paper. It is hard for most to understand what money really is and comes from unfortunately. Some you can save, but you cannot save most. We all can't be winners i guess.
