History of cryptocoins, Gamble. - My story - Episode #10 - CasinoCoin

Yeh not every one wants to admit it, but it happens. It happened to me, and more then once. This is episode #10

This story is going about a coin that gambled. I present you.

    CasinoCoin (CSC)
This coin was created with the idea to be used in the casino's. Online and offline. But i am sure you guessed that by reading the name.
So what stood out when it launched? Well i thought it was a nice idea to focus on gambling.
It had a fair start without a premine.
This is what the developer had to say about it.
"Central to the goal of Casinocoin is to help make online casino gaming accessible to all by removing barriers. "
The biggest issue would be how to get the coin for casino gaming. You can do that also with bitcoin for example.
Before we go to the rest of the story. Here are the stats.
  • scrypt proof-of-work algorithm
  • 30 second block time targets
  • 50 coins per block, halves every 3,153,600 blocks (~3 years)
  • 720 blocks to retarget difficulty
  • 336 million total coins
  • fair launch, absolutely no premine
    So what happened.
The coin was created with the idea to help the gaming community. It was difficult to deposit funds for online casino gaming after April 15th 2011. This day was also name 'Black Friday' by the online gaming community.

A decentralized crypto currency could help fix that problem. As we all know cryptocoins are easy to move around and out of the grips of the government.

CasinoCoin was a mix of different stengths of al ready existing coins. Like Bitcoin, Litecoin, Feathercoin and Digitalcoin. By doing so it got the security of Bitcoin, more coins like Feathercoin has and the speed of Digitalcoin
But somehow it never took off like many hoped. I minded some and bought some. But never made much money with it. I did a short check on some online gaming sites and i see some cryptocoins on it. But never Casinocoin.
I think this coin just like so many before in that time was not really something new. Just other numbers (coins, speed etc.) and a different name. Really different then some of the projects we see today.
The coin is still alive and there is still work going on behind the screen. If it ever really will take off? I don't think so.

Next coin will be the one that cost me a lot. And let me leave cryptocoins for years. It will be a longer story then normal.

You probably'd like to fix this paragraph:
It was difficult to deposit funds for online casino gaming after April 15th 2011. This day was also name 'Black Friday' by the online gaming community. Since that date is was difficult to deposit funds for online casino gaming.
It sounds weird with that repetiton.
Otherwise interesting as always. :-) I dig this type of historical bits.

The heat must cloud my reading :) thx.
