Why has Litecoin increased in value?

There are a few reasons. 1: some comments made by the founder, 2: is the Korean exchanges buying up lots of LTC, 3: is the Lightning wallet Alpha expected this week, 4: Bitcoin transactions costing up to $8,

Litecoin fee is typically $0.10 whereas Bitcoin is typically over $5

Good points in this post. I was about to post a similair thread. The blockchain is here to stay. No matter what any crypto will do in the upcoming years.
