5 best crypto exchanges you should be using in 2018!

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago  (edited)

2018 is going to be a good year for cryptocurrency and the future of the world in general.. Trading wisely will be important.

The big exchanges are locking up and not allowing new accounts (bittrex).. Others have the worst customer service available (Poloniex).. Even other exchanges are now no longer accepting U.S. citizens. (Bitfinex).. These large exchanges have placed themselves in a bad position, a position for competition to come in and easily surpass them.

The most up and coming exchange out currently is Binance, they are adding pairings and new coins every day. They are giving away bounties in trade competitions. They have some of the lowest fees out, .1% on trades and if you buy and use Binance Bits, the fees are reduced to .05%. The best part is that you have a 24 withdrawal limit of 2 bitcoins with no verification!!

If you haven't tried Binance you can sign up for an account here..

I would recommend even buying and holding Binance Bits because this exchange has a lot of room to grow, and Binance Bits are a necessary part on their platform if you want to save on fees, so everyone who uses Binance will be buying Binance bits!

Bitshares is THE BEST decentralized exchange out. This year will be a big year for Bitshares. It has suffered from low trading volume and a hard to use interface.. This year the interface is being upgraded again, and it was already recently made much better.. With all the problems the large exchanges are encountering, and with the regulation of crypto, this might be a big year for Bitshares. No limits, no know your customer compliance, no centralized company who holds your coins, very low trading fees. All big things that are important to people that are into crypto.

If you would like to sign up for Bitshares and get yourself acclimated to the best decentralized exchange on one of the best blockchains in the space.. Sign up here..

Once you sign up you can use the same account on Bitshares, Open Ledger, Freedom Ledger, and RuDEX.. More exchanges that use the Bitshares blockchain are sure to keep coming out.

Bitshares coin is a great coin to buy and hold, just like Binance Bits.. you can use Bitshares to pay trading fees and the more people who join the more people will want Bitshares coins to use for fees!

Kucoin is another exchange with a coin like Binance and Bitshares. There is currently no withdrawal limit and no know your customer in place.. I expect a limit to be put in place with the possibility to increase limits through know your customer. Kucoin has the same fees as Binance, .1% for trading, and .05% if you use Kucions for the fees. I have found that if Binance and Bitshares doesn't have it then Kucoin will. I found pairings for DENT and Dragonchain which are both coins I have been interested in lately, but werent available on Binance or Bitshares.

KuCoin also pays Kucoin shareholders 50% of the trading fees just for holding the KuCoin Shares!

You can check out Kucoin and sign up here

These coins are lower on coinmarketcap than Bitshares and Binance. Which with the nice exchange, unique pairings, and the potential growth.. makes these coins well worth looking into!!

Cobinhood will be a zero fee trading exchange. It is up and running and with minimal KYC you can have a withdrawal limit of 10,000$.. They dont have very many pairing and the volume is currently low. But with more pairing and more attention, the volume should start to rise as well.. I signed up just for the zero trading fees, and I expect within the next couple months I will be using Cobinhood more often. Currently the only pairing are between Ethereum, Bitcoin, Cobinhood, and Cybermiles. Its still worth getting on and getting yourself acclimated to the exchange, so eventually you can enjoy zero trading fees when the coins you like start trading on Cobinhood.

You can sign up for an account here

Cobinhood's coin does not have the same use as Binance, Bithares, or Kucoin. I would recommend not buying any, however the coin will gain you advantage in the future ICO's hosted by Cobinhood. So if Cobinhood hosts an ICO for a coin you like, Cobinhood coins would be good to have to get an advantage in their hosted ICO's..

Etherdelta is a hard exchange to use. You need to learn to use Metamask and use that to buy and sell coins on there. There are no great savings, or EtherDeltaCoin to buy and use. Adversely there is no deposit or withdraw limits. This exchange is hard to use and it offers no great discounts.. BUT, this exchange is often times the first place you can buy coins after an ICO.. Most ERC-20 tokens end up here before they hit an exchange, and this makes it an awesome place to pick up cheap coins, often times even lower than ICO price. I have used this to buy Spectiv tokens, Dragonchain Tokens, as well as Aion tokens before they were listed on Binance.

To buy and sell coins you first need to download the Metamask extension. You can send your ERC 20 tokens to your Metamask wallet to sell them on Etherdelta or you can send Ethereum to your Metamask and buy cheap ERC20 tokens before they end up on a larger, easier to use exchange.. at a much higher price probably..

The Etheredelta website can be found here

Also, expect EIdoo to come out and do well. I own no coins and have only tinkered with the wallet.. But one wallet to store all your ERC20 coins with the ability to retain your private keys.. And soon to have an exchange built in..

You can check out Eidoo here or you can download the wallet from your phones app store.

Any questions comments or concerns feel free to ask them below and as always. I will try my best to help and answer them!

How many of them trade STEEM?

We as a community need to make a push to get Steem listed on new exchanges. Otherwise someone needs to pay money to submit an application and hope it gets approved.

I don't really know about Kucoin, but with this post I know better

Thank you for sharing this drpuffnstuff

@drpuffnstuff In 2018 it would be nice to have a STEEMIT Exchange.............

Yes it would. In a sense. Bitshares is kinda like a Steemit Exchange. Many of the same witnesses verify the block.. They are both created by the same person. and blocktrades is sort of like a steemit exchange lol.. but I assume you mean an exchange that pairs many coins with Steem and SBD.. and that WOULD be cool

Thanks for this nice summary. I guess you are totally right with Bitshares in the future. The potential upside is huge and let's see what regulators will do in Q1 and Q2 next year. I also you Binance for some coins. And it's also pretty funny that you say that EtherDelta is hard do use. I would definitely describe it the same way.
Today I wanted to check out my whole history on Bitshares but it actually just goes back 15 days. I found a comment somewhere in the faqs that it shows shows 100 entries. Would be pretty neat if they could change it in the future:)

Ya, they do need to get a full blockchain explorer going on. Im not sure there is any easy way to do it at the moment..

I have not found a different way. Well let's see if they implement this feature in the future.

Great tip about Etheredelta! Sounds like a great way to get coins after they ICO!

Good post dude, Resteemed!

yo yo, hope things have been good, and that the holidays were the same.. I have been slacking and too busy to get on much lately but im trying to get back in the swing of things..

All good brother and the same to you dude. Just like a dynamo, it takes a little bit of time to get back to full 'Steem' again. ;-D

Thanks for this summary, despite being on Steemit for six months, I still know next to nothing about cryptocurrency. This is a nice startet when I decided to take the plunge and invest

I tried to setup a Binance account, but it would not accept any password I set, claiming it needed to be at least 8 characters, with uppercase letters, which, of course my password met.

Downloading the bitshares app just locked it up when I ran it.

Any ideas?

Did your password have numbers, that might have been required.. Otherwise I cant think of what it could have been.. It was easy for me and Ive like it so far. deposits and withdraws are fast and without problems.. I might try to make an overly long one with capitals, lowercase and numbers and see if that works too

Dope, thanks for sharing.. am definitely going to create an account here in the near future to avoid all of this nonsense going on with these other big named exchanges. Much to be learned from this post, thus resteemed to spread the word.. much appreciation

regards @conradsuperb

Binance is the simplest of them i guess plus binance coin has great potential..

Btw thanks for sharing the useful information.

yes yes yo , you are super active lately ,this is good sign :) great post .

currently using binance and its definitely one of the better exchanges I've been using. Was using Kraken for a bit but its recent troubles with regards to its network being down occasionally made me pull out most of my cryptos from there. Great summary of the other exchanges!

I honestly believe gdax should have been on that list, but the list was based on your opinion and expertise so I will respect it.

What matters to me is if they trade steem or not

I partially agree yo, I mean I would prefer them to accept steem. It would take us a a community to vote it in or it would take someone submitting an application to other exchanges. I would definitely like to see Steem show up on more exchanges this year!

Thats tge prayer, full steem ahead sir

No bittrex?

No

but its just because they arent allowing new registrations. Why recommend them if no one can sign up.. Of the largest exchanges they are one of the better ones. Bitrex, Poloniex, and GDAX are not lowering fees or sharing exchange fees like some of the exchanges I listed. They are not decentralized like Bitshares. They will not be the best exchanges in the future
