On Pangea you can create your own Decentralised Borderless Voluntary Nation (DBVN). Choose your Code of Law and Decision Making Mechanism, write a Constitution and provide Governance Services to Citizens.

So I am little confused with this or let's just say with it's benefits in particular. What good does a digital nation brings if that Code of Law, Constitution may or may not be acceptable by your respective Govts or am I missing something?

We are not assuming or claiming an instantaneous revolution.

This is simply a very powerful tool and platform for people that wish for consensual governance to have a stronger example of whats possible to show the current Regimes.

As more people choose to operate within Blockchain Jurisdiction, the weight of the Blockchain Jurisdiction will grow in the eyes, minds, and hearts of all people.

Just like how as more people choose cryptocurrency, the more all people in general will believe in and choose to use it. Bitnation Pangea is another strong step in the decentralization movement.

Addressing "What good does a digital nation bring" a little further.

The Earth Nation is a Digital Nation. We help our voteholders with quite a lot. Bitnation provides a variety of services in itself, i recommend exploring our respective websites for more information.

Albeit, both the EN and Bitnation are extremely young, as Nations go. Expect what you would of a baby nation, 1/100th to 1/1000th the age of many of the current Governments.

While Bitnation persues Blockchain Jurisdiction, the Earth Nation has used church law to accomplish legal sovereignty within existing law.

A digital nation is another way to look at a network, an organization, a group of friends; from the most empowered standpoint possible.

Yeah, that makes sense. Just wanted to know if there were plans for both physical and digital nation to co-exist. As in either case, and I think you would agree that the physical borders will always overpower us.

Our angle is to very much combine the two. We have a small handful of Earth Nation communities across the world that are very grounded. Over time, we intend to keep growing and propagating our EN Community Models. Perhaps other digital nations will follow suite.

When combining our physical locations with native american law and church law, we are already very close to Sovereign. Perhaps, when combining these elements with strongly formed and thriving Digital Nations the governments of the world will finally give us a little formal recognition.

This is an awesome idea!!

Finally an attempt for a true border-less solution.

Seems like it can be used to establish communities and perhaps even small nations and solve the issue that many small communities face : the governance, funds distributions, agreements...etc...

"On Pangea you can create your own Decentralised Borderless Voluntary Nation" - in Israel where we still have closed communities (Kibbutz) living on a socialist governance, where each gets what he needs and provides what he can...such a decentralized solution can be of a great benefit.
As many of those Kibbutz's were privatized due to the lack of ability to properly govern and distribute the funds throughout the community...

Perhaps "Bitnation Pangea" can help establish a better, modern and much more fairer communities.

You can earn the Token without buying it. There are many different kinds of bounties that can be filled for coins, from simple stuff anyone can do to professional work of various kinds.

Amazing concept, greater still to anyone with the next big idea, to create a nation (i.e, like a group) that vests your member's activity as coin-tokens, and added Smart Contract interactivity...it's a universal public notary on the blockchain!

Intrigued, I signed up, downloaded the app, and currently drafting up a manifesto. Since this isn't available (yet) for U.S citizens, at least preposition the potentially incredible legislative power of a Bitnation DBVN-type constitution for a virtual world (say: Second Life's virtual realm of mainland and private estate lots). Anyone now can develop their own virtual space on the Internet.

It looks to me like pangea is using the blockchain to allow free democracy to all people. The earth really is one nation whether we like to admit it or not. The dangers and pollution from one corner of the earth will have a lasting impact on all people living on earth. Although pangea is not a political revolution I see hope for this planet in pangea. The whitepaper has the real details. It's quite a lot to take in, so we will provide some case use examples.

Opens up the possibility for corporations and decentralized autonomous organizations and anonymous partnerships to make contractual agreements in a court outside of every other court on the planet. The enforcement of these contracts is simply the reputation of both parties. Groups/individuals that break contracts or who have a short record of partnerships are simply not trusted nearly as much as groups/individuals that have a long record of keeping agreements with numerous other parties.

This system also comes with a form of arbitration, so there is a clear universal understanding of what actually happened in the literal execution of the digital contract.

This allows for the creation of court systems and other systems of law within the blockchain, effectivley creating a jurisdiction.

Forming a jurisdiction is an critical part of forming a country, which is the larger part of what Bitnation is here to do, facilitate the development of consensual based governance that takes proper care of all people.

Does that make more sense?

Whether this takes root as a long term success or acts as an experiment for future endeavors it’s commendable. Certain areas of commerce where a industry coin and universal terms are agreed upon is a logical area to focus on. Much of what makes up industry has nothing to do with benefiting the value of direct inputs but rather facilitates processes that could be replaced by smart contracts and removal of barriers created by International trade and exchange rates. Analogous to replacing a 1960s mainframe computer with a smartphone.

Wow. We are moving toward independent nations. This goes against the prediction of corporation replacing nations. Awesome idea.

Believe it or not, I can see this. I play a lot of strategy games and the dynamics can be quite intricate. With blockchain, we now have a stable database. Smart contracts allow us to build our dreams onto ones and zeros using block data. Mind Craft was revolutionary. Bitnation Pangea has foresight.

I am not sure what my deep feelings are about this becoming a reality, other than to say that it is, at least, a most excellent brainstorming exercise.

The idea is pretty amazing. I will not repeat everything said already. I hope this project can raise awareness of the power laying in the blockchain and smart contracts. Still to make this project a huge success, we will need to integrate everyone, not only crypto enthusiasts , which will lead to other problems.

Borderless just brought a film up in my mind. Remember how Justin Timberlake drove through all borders from poor to rich. Somehow, time was bounded to a smart contract.
Think about it, this is hark out of the dark!

I hadn't heard of this concept, or its reality apparently, before. It raises some questions I'm sure the white paper would answer, or may have been answered in some other comments. I saw the conflict with existing governments and rules addressed in the comment. I only hope that setting an example will have some impact on how things are done in the rest of the world.

Cryptocurrency will eventually replace fiat currency.

At some point even traditional governments will have to adopt nationally backed cryptocurrencies.

Quantitative easing and debt based economics simply don't work out for everyone over the long term. Anyone who actually knows economics knows this.

Are PAT coins and PAT tokens the same thing?
PAT tokens are supposed to be non tradable and rewarded solely on performance/reputation not on popularity, wealth etc... if that is the case then what is the ICO all about? I mean if PAT tokens are being sold at the beginning this mean who can afford to buy tons of it will have high reputation from the start.

I might have missed something tho...

What you missed, are that PATs help you form contracts.

There is another currency awarded that is non-tradeable, that represents your reputation. By having a high reputation score, you are awarded a dividend of PATs.

PAT coins and tokens are the same thing.
