STORY TIME..What I mean by investor...

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago

I feel like a lot of folks on here and blogs are long time investors. I however will claim, I started September 1st 2017. I impulsively bought some bitcoin (BTC) after being scared to risk the little money I earn. During that day, bitcoin had reached its peak and I didn't know better, I did the newbie thing and bought in because of the hype.

That impulse to jump into action changed my life. Maybe it wasn't the best time to buy as a good entry point (during that time) but it helped me be a bit more fearless. With one hit of the buy button, I became more and more engaged in investing and it led me to educate myself in learning about other sorts of investing methods and being more comfortable with risk. So I was learning whatever I could. Everything slowly has come together. Well...as together as it can be for a new investor. That investment has led me down a curvy path thus far and I'm only beginning. I have been downa a path of lots of lessons (aka loss of minor amounts of monies) and some profits but there is always something learned somewhere. Now I'm here on steemit trying to share my story and wisdom for those newbie traders like myself and share the knowledge as I go along it myself.

Lesson 1 of being an investor...Invest your time in education then invest your monies and reinvest your profits.

..So I'm still learning on how steemit works but I think upvoting and following me is good so feel free to do so! Thanks!

Best way if you're a newbie to this world is try earning crypto, here you can earn steem and SBD with posting content and commenting other people's posts, then you can convert it to bitcoin or ethereum whenever you want ! that's the simplest way ; I'm like you but haven't yet managed to find a trustful site to put fiat money into ; coinbase is a joke, and I'm waiting for bitpanda to verify my account to check if it's interesting without much fees. But you'll see the amount of virtual money you can earn by just posting on here and interacting here everyday is interesting !

I even heard of companies that can pay you in crypto if you want, totally terrific, you're paid and if it goes up you have an even more important paycheck haha ; but we gotta find those type of companies. There are ICOs all over the place, about 1370 coins, I guess the ideal thing is joining one of them. But as you say, we learn everyday.

That is super awesome! Coinbase is not my favorite. Their fees are insane and the thing that kills me the most is the wait period to get coins in your wallet. I know they added the USD Wallet to bypass that but its still rather annoying. I haven't actually heard of bitpanda. I'll have to check it out. What have you heard regarding it??

it's quite complete, and you can pay with credit card, unless sites like kraken. And the fees are the lowest possible, about 3% or 4%. There's this one and Bitbay who is still verifying me too. It looks safe and accepts fast payment with credit card. Avoid Coinmama too, it's also accepting fast transactions with credit card, but the fees are terrible, 7% or even more. In a nutshell, sign up on Bitpanda, Bitbay,Bitstamp (for buying fast with credit card) and see which one of them answers you faster in the verification process; and sign up on kraken, changelly, bittrex and bitfinex for exchanges possibilities. Right now, that's what I did, because there's no 100% safe place, but those are thanks to my research the "least-dangerous" ones in this crypto world...

One last thing, for bittrex and bitfinex, we gotta wait for the signups to reopen, but kraken is still a fast solution, I already have managed to create one account there. Always have multiple solutions, and store your coins on blockchain.info (they have safe wallets that are created fast), and also if possible on a hardware, I'm thinking about building a coin bank on an USB key, here is the tutorial https://news.bitcoin.com/bitcoin-bank-less-thirty-minutes-usb-drive/

That is awesome. I'll look into kraken and the others. I've heard of bitbay, their value went up a good bit yesterday so that has something to show for it. And thanks for the coin bank link. I never thought about that one.

complicated to do so far, but not impossible to create I believe

Its best to jump straight in and learn your lessons on the go. Congrats for taking the leap into crypto

Thank you so much! Looking forward to continuing my journey!
