Estonia will hold the first government ICO in the world

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago  (edited)

Estonia took the first place in the formation of the European blockade revolution, having offered its e-residence program, and is now studying the way to provide currency to electronic residents.

The idea seems simple enough: electronic residents can have their own international currency. It is important to note that the e-host program has not yet encountered any legal problems from international governments or organizations.
With the new program, a person from anywhere in the world can become a resident of Estonia, open a business here and then carry out transactions in a digital currency issued by the government. The same currency can be used to pay the country's minimum taxes. As a result, local industries serving foreign residents will be stimulated, they try to create their own business, acquire property, etc.

If the experience of Estonia proves to be positive, other states could also introduce such a system. One of the many useful points in it is that the "Know your customer" policy, discussed today, can be achieved easily and at ease with the help of this program. When digital residents become the norm, the public system becomes more transparent.

Selectively information about residents can be transferred to agencies that need it to check the status of someone who is trying to do business or invest.

Very interesting. I didn't think it would be adapted into government so quickly.
