Nick Szabo accidentally says he designed Bitcoin

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago

I was recently listening to a podcast episode where Tim Ferriss interviews Nick Szabo and Naval Ravikant. At some point in this conversation, Nick says: "I designed Bitcoin(…)gold with two layers because…".

Basically it was a slip of the tongue where Nick substituted Bitgold (which is Nick's invention) with Bitcoin.

You can find the full episode here.

This might be completely accidental and not noteworthy, but I find it to be an interesting accident because Nick is considered the most likely candidate behind the Satoshi Nakomoto pseudonym.

Interesting thoughts

I heard the same thing! I like to believe that Nick is Satoshi (or part of the group) since he seems to be upstanding human being. I'd also like him to avoid him being definitively outed as Satoshi. I think he has more value to the world now as Nick Szabo.

we noticed the same thing yesterday when scouring that podcast.
Also did more research on Nick's blogs, and wrote this about another clue we found...
