I just read on @wired that mining cryptocurrencies leaves a massive carbon footprint, which when you think about it of course it does. But it never ever accrued to me before.
So I was thinking, since we're living in Valencia and we already have plans to get a small little house outside of the city surrounded by orange trees and close to the sea, to set up a cryptofarm only using solar and wind energy. Using some of the profit to invest in green business to eliminating any carbon footprints we cause due to our travels. We're already pretty good not having a car, living in a warm country and not having children (<---- just for the lols) but flying is our guilty pleasure.
Also I'm not an engineer and I have no idea if current solar panels and wind turbines would create enough energy to run a mining farm worth while.
What are you thoughts? Would you invest in a real green cryptocurrency? And please before you rip me apart, I'm a newbie waving at you shyly with some flowers in my hair! #nothahippie
Here is what I think. Read here.
There is a bit were I mentioned about "Other Sustainable Energy Sources"
