Crypterium 😻 - Just got my card!

in cryptocurrency β€’Β  5 years agoΒ  (edited)

If you have questions or you just want to know more about Crypterium, have a look at one of the earlier posts I made. If afterwards you still have questions, let me know on the comments below.

Wait... Is this the Crypterium card?

Yes, or kind of yes. If you have a look at the previous post I did about this, you can easily check various differences from what I got and what is on the pictures.

But don't panic!

This was expected because in between these two pictures Crypterium had some challenges with the previous card issuer, and like any company, had to adapt quickly to avoid losing grasp in the business.

Although I must mention, some Crypterium logos or mentions in the card package would be nice. I almost threw this away, thinking it would be corona virus bait!

Seriously, if you look at the first picture. Can you tell that is from Crypterium? I can’t.

(example of how the card is supposed to be)

I am guessing they are strategically trying to position themselves to face the changes resulted from the issuer hiccups. So, running to market is a must, otherwise, they lose more places in this race and therefore profit.

The card is from UnionPay, has PayWave and is branded "ko-kard" in the front. It says VIP MEMBER in the front for me and has my name on it. Besides that, looks just like any other plastic standard card.

I am 🀨

That's right, for a card that costs money to order, receiving this, is pretty disappointing. No way I can even compare this with my AMAZING Crypto.com card. But hey, for many, better than nothing, especially because Crypterium is aiming for world coverage. Hence all users that can't yet get the Crypto.com card, this might be a very nice option.

So, if you are one of those that either can't get Crypto.com or just wants to have this one anyway, head to my referral link and we both get $5 USD for it.

There is a virtual version of it too!

Yes, but I am not sure if you can have it without ordering a card. Probably yes or maybe that's part of their strategy to cover more potential users. Let's wait and watch.

Limits & Fees

These were taken from the website, but they differ from what I see on the app. Although I have decided to use the ones on the website.

Should you get Verified?

If you feel struggling with the limits of the Not verified status, then yes, you should definitively go ahead I would say.

Comparisons

The website has some comparisons... but beware that some data is not updated. For example, Crypto.com is not just available in Singapore.

uitb0v.png

These are pure marketing right. You show what's convenient. With this comparison, I have also learned about other cards I did not know. Always learning.

Downsides for me, and especially towards Crypterium is that you need to PAY to load the card. Even with crypto, which is kind of a disappointing factor for the most cryptocurrency community.

I have been asked to review the product on a private feedback questionaire, which I have given hard critics, so lets see if that can make any difference. Hopefully, other users will do the same and help Crypterium stay competitive.

3 Crypto Cards!

Do I get a medal? LOL

Feels that from here, there's no more point on getting other cards if not just for fun. If you are either not reviewing it (my case) or use it, why to bother right? But hell sure it was fun and enriching to witness these experiences, goods and bads. Tells much about how hard its to bring crypto to the world of the poeple that already beleives/trusts in non-crypto tech (credit/debit cards).

I am out. Thanks for reading.
Cheers!

Wow! what a generous curation. I need to look at tipu too. Sometimes I wish I had like a buffer.

Like a buffer? What do you mean @forykw?

Β  Β· Β 5 years agoΒ

Similar to what SBI is, but using a model that allows me to use the entire buffer in one go if I wished for.

In alternative to that, for the ones not liking the model, a way to let's say, ONCE per week, be able to spend 100% of my voting power in 1 vote. And then you would need to wait 7 days for you be able to spend more than 2%. In balance to the unbalanced way to consume Voting power, you would also consume equivalent amount of your RCs. This way you would avoid schemes. Sort of like a berserk mode of voting. You have 100% of berserk power to spend per week, which would entitle someone to spend more than 2% per vote up to your available SP.

I have probably confused you by now... but I will work a better way to tell the idea, and when I am ready (or if still makes sense) ask around to see what people think of it.

I didn't know you're also with tipu :)

How are the margins if you change cryptos, one to another, or crypto to fiat/fiat to crypto? Any information about taxation, eventual report to the tax authorities from side of the company?

I got my Revolut card some weeks ago, it is also completely free of fees.

Β  Β· Β 5 years agoΒ

Super great questions...

Swapping between crypto on the app is supposedly free of fees (but they say based on coinmarketcap rates). From Crypto to FIAT, I think that does not apply much to Crypterium yet, because they don't handle FIAT within the wallet. But there are fees for moving crypto in/out the wallet.

About taxation, is the usual. We have to do the homework and pay ourselves the taxes. About their side, I have no clue, but that shows even greater knowledge from your side. =) Will be sure to investigate if you know more stuff I need to know.

thanks for stopping by...

Cryptocurrency cards have been amazing. Thanks for sharing

Β  Β· Β 5 years agoΒ

Do you hold any cards at the moment (or are waiting on any to arrive)?

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Personally, I have never used cryptocurrency cards and I would find it interesting to do so at some future time.

Β  Β· Β 5 years agoΒ

In the future they will be different. Probably not from VISA or Mastercard, etc.

very important and necessary...

Β  Β· Β 5 years agoΒ

Important to the transition of crypto into society. Necessary, I would argue. But at least they are proving a great deal of information sharing across the governments and financial sectors.

Thats nice

I've been seriously thinking about a crypto card recently. πŸ™‚ I'd support you for medal.

Β  Β· Β 5 years agoΒ

Medal πŸ₯‡? Have a look at the Crypto.com one too. If it’s available at your location I would recommend it instead.

I keep running into that site. I haven't fully explored it though. Thanks.

I remember I invested some bucks in some virtual credit card and it went down without any signs after a month or two.

Β  Β· Β 5 years agoΒ

You mean other virtual credit card right?

Crypterium also has a sort of virtual one (but the number is always the same).

When I was in Portugal, there was a think with Banks, that with some you could generate a temporary virtual credit card, that would only have a certain amount of money. For secure payments. It was called I think, MBnet...

i thik Crypto.com is still better

Β  Β· Β 5 years agoΒ

It is... but if you can't get it... right?

Β  Β· Β 5 years agoΒ

Woah. That's great! Gonna check it out now!

Good jhob
