About two weeks ago I posted about a weird pump happening on the HTML5 markets. TL;DR: There was a successful doublespend attack and the coin gained 1000% just upon the promise of a fix from the developers.
The pump was short-lived though. A few days later the developers announced that they in fact would not be able to fix their blockchain. The coin immediately depreciated in value and trading grinded to a halt at 2 satoshis.
Bleutrade issued the following statement at the time:
[2017-06-17] Developers of htmlcoin informed us at the last minute that they gave up on offering solutions, they will only make changes in the algorithm. This is a serious problem and Bleutrade can no longer trust these developers, we will be initiating an investigation to know the real intention of this blockchain attack and consequent prejudice to the users and Bleutrade.
Ok... a shitcoin has died, nothing to worry about! The disappointment of having missed that pump had blown over, time to stop paying attention... but suddenly, now there's trading-volume again:
wtf?!?
Bleutrade issued another statement 2 days ago:
[2017-06-21] Htmlcoin developers prepare new version release with improvements and security guarantees for the entire community. read more. Deposits were reactivated.
The "read more" just leads to a facebook post (for God's sake) from the developer:
make a "swap" and recommend features via email?! wtff
Oh, so now everything is all fine and dandy again?!
I personally cannot believe how these markets move upon vague statements and promises
Can we profit from crazyness?
Having seen the previous mindless pump and having noticed the volume rising again yesterday... I'll make a risky experiment. I bought 0,01BTC worth of HTML5 @ 2 satoshis.
If the markets continue to act foolish, maybe there'll be a nice profit. If the markets finally start to be reasonable, then I'll be made the fool!
This is not trading advice!
I am just sharing my observations and silly experiments ;)
Let me know what you think!
Will you take a risk, too?
Also, if you want to know the details of the initial double spend attack, Bleutrade issued a report here, it's quite interesting.

Good riddance. Unfortunately, it takes too long for a lot of crap coins and scam coins to die. I bet you without the hack it may have lived on for many more months before grinding down to nothing.
