Australians Can Now Pay Bills in Crypto

Australian residents can now pay their bills using cryptocurrencies, thanks to a partnership between the Cointree exchange and payment processor platform Gobbill. Gobbill will accept and process crypto payments from users, and Cointree will convert the crypto into fiat currency to pay merchants. With this model, residents can use digital currencies to pay their bills even if the receiving party does not accept crypto in-house.

ICONLOOP Selected By Korean Voting Initiative

ICONLOOP has been selected as the blockchain consultant for a new blockchain-based voting system, which will be developed and overseen by two Korean information & election agencies. They will be exploring remote voting solutions as well as “the application of blockchain technology throughout various election systems, including candidate registration, voting, and ballot counting.”

Apple Co-Founder Joins Crypto Startup

Steve Wozniak announced today that he has joined Equi Capital, a blockchain-based investment startup. The Apple co-founder spoke highly of blockchain technology and seemed to be thinking ahead to practical use cases for it. He did not specify what his role in Equi will be, but suggested the company may register in blockchain-friendly Malta.

Bitcoin Cash Sees Lackluster Adoption

Bitcoin Cash isn’t seeing the volume of adoption one might expect from listening to Roger Ver and the Twitter hype squad, according to a Bloomberg article, with commerce usage declining from $10 million in March to just under $4 million in May. The article cites centralization as one possible cause, with nearly 60 percent of BCH held by 67 wallets.
