The Shift is Happening Folks, Crypto Currency will Be Hitting the Masses Soon.

If you can read Russian, here is the original article about the WhopperCoin in Russia. Now all I want to know is how do I get my hands on some WhopperCoin? I don't think Burger King Panama is as forward thinking.

Our friends at Coinidol were the first Crypto News channel to report the news. Burger King in Russia Issues its own Cryptocurrency. All customers have to do is buy Whoppers. Each purchased Whopper receives on WhopperCoin. Just go online and claim your Whoppercoins.

I'm going to go to my local Burger King and ask them if my Whopper comes with a Whopper coin and see the confused look on their faces. Entertainment.

Bwahahahaa! Video it

Exciting news for the fast food chain restaurant.

That would be hysterical to see. lol

so on top of it you can ask for the Wappercoin or Vopperkoin with a thick russian accent just to make it more fun

this is the google translate:

"The Russian division of the fast food chain Burger King has announced the release of its own crypto currency, wappercoin. Representatives of the company say that this is done within the framework of the new loyalty program.

Crypto currency was released on the Waves block-platform. At the first stage, 1 billion voppercoins were produced, but subsequently additional emission is possible.
Since August 22, the buyer can send the company a scan of the check from the order in Burger King and the address of the crypto-currency purse. For one bought burger "vopper" on the purse will be credited 1 vopperkoin. On the question of where exactly it is necessary to send checks, the company responded with a promise to publish detailed instructions.
In a conversation with Rusbase, the representative of Burger King specified that the initial use of crypto currency is a loyalty program, within which customers can pay with orders for orders.
In the company, however, they do not yet know what "course" will be exchanged between the orders for the orders in Burger King. "We will test the first time, there will be an understanding," - said the representative of the network.
Also in the company allowed the output of vopperkoinov on crypto-exchange exchanges. "Regarding the auction - it may well be, but the exact time frame is not ready to be named," - added to Burger King.
In June of this year, the Russian Burger King also announced that it is going to accept bitcoins for payment."

LoL Whoppercoins

Wow, this'll really get some Sheeple in the crypto space! lol I don't like the term sheeple but if you're hearing about crypto from the BK cashiers then you need more friends in the crypto space! 😄😂😏 Thanks for sharing this hilarious news @Hilarski!

Solve this easily: (1) send me to Russia (First Class, and I don't fly Aeroflot), (2) let me buy ALL THE WHOPPERS, (3) I send you all the WhopperCoins.

Doesn't really sound like a steady coin, but o well, at least people get something "valuable" with their junkfood...

that's what bancor is for!

WhopperCoin? I love the technology and I like to see mainstream adoption of cryptos, but that name just sounds really dumb. Just my 2 Satoshis.

LOL that is going to be a crazy inflationary model I'm sure. Every whopper sold = whopper coins. Suddenly McDonald's is in decline.

I am a little skeptical with so many ICOs in the market. Very few of these will finally succeed and a lot of people will lose money. Its a good thing people to get in the crypto market but its very possible to get scared at the end if their selections fail. Deep Research is always required. Thank you for informing us.

A very brilliant idea. Thank you for sharing information :-)

ohh no i cannot read the russian and what a amazing burger king russia issues and whoopercoins

I want some right now!

Lol

Well I'm going to move to Russia and eat loads of whoppers haha
I had no idea that they did this
Seems like Russia is most likely going to be the first to adopt the blockchain into daily lives

You're right, the shift is happening and these are exciting times!

You know, a couple years ago during the holiday season, I saw Target advertising their own coin too. I'm unsure if it was crypto-related, though. It was called something like 'Target GiftCoin'. I was searching my pictures for the screenshot I took - to no avail :( Maybe they'll bring it back this winter.

What, I'm sure if this issues can be real, it's will be good news for another place. Thanks for sharing Sir @hilarski.

Amazing news in the crypto world.

I don't always resteemed and re post on FBI but today I do.

Nice information @hilarski sir, i hope they get success in this.

oh wow, I guess cryptos are starting to get mainstream even faster then I thought :)

Wwwoooowww!!! Thats something new.

I have not eaten a Whopper in a few decades, but this is still really remarkable news. I wish them the best with their coin issuance.

I'm wondering if these Whopper coins can be exchanged for burgers like Loyalty points?

Edit - OK according to the original article that is how it will work. I think this is a great real world practical use case for tokens and could attract new people to the wider crypto space by stealth.

I could also envision local shops using these kinds of tokens to create a cheap and easy loyalty scheme. It only takes a few clicks to create and costs virtually nothing.

Yes, I would agree with your statement on small retail getting involved, and agree with @phelimint's comment if the Russian Burger King crypto project is a success the "me too" effect will kick in and the idea will spread like wild fire, driving mass adoption of crypto.

Very good news, nice to see crypto having day to day usage

This is certainly quite interesting. But it makes sense to institute this as some sort of loyalty rewards program, instead of all those silly points hanging around. I can only hope that it is a huge success and many more retailers take notice and institute a similar program.

Agreed, see my reply to @thecryptofiend's comment, it relates to yours.

The official whoppercoin asset has a green checkmark (not a black checkmark).

Great post @Hilarski

I wonder if it will look like these tokens from the 1980s.

From google translate I understand that this is a customer loyalty program but the translation is unclear about what can be purchased with the loyalty tokens.

The waves platform proves to be able to support token (loyalty) programmes. I hope other robust coins like Byteball evolve their private assets programmes (for a hands on experience, see: https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@wekkel/byteball-create-your-own-tokens) giving companies the ability to attach their business' value to tokens. Perhaps they can issue their own 'dollars' that can circulate on their own. The free market would determine the tokens' value.

I hear this name first time :-) Thanks for the info @hilarski

i just hope to receive bigmac coin so in future i can eat at mcdonalds around the world for free

I'm really curious to what this coin will do. It will probably act like some coin of saving card. Each whooper gets you a coin and after 10 coins you can exchange it to some kind of discount probably.

I think this is big for the waves platform. It really delivers the fast passed development some companies need to start creating.

Yea , Russian article states that at this point it just a loyalty program and they will see how it is going :) But hey , mccoins, whopercoins, jackdanielscoins sounds fun )

I know everyone thinks that when the masses adopt cryptocurrency like this it's going to be a great thing but I'm not so sure.

Please explain yourself i.e. why would it be a bad thing?

Well I really don't like to get political but I think a lot of people wouldn't know what to do with it. You've seen the current wave of minnows that are coming from Facebook and are posting a lot of spam and scam. They don't understand how Steemit works. I think the average layman isn't going to get educated about cryptocurrency..... they're just going to jump right in and possibly invest money into whopper coin. Not a good idea IMHO.

Whoppercoin to the MOOOON! haha But really, I hope people don't actually waste their valuable crypto on this smh

It seems like some reward system which you get when you buy something there.

I can't believe burger king create their own coin? Will mcdonald do the same thing?

Mwahaha, this should mean some free whopper coin maybe for some of us Waves stakers? Perhaps it doesn't count as an "ICO".

Cool story, thanks for posting.

Time to buy WhopperCoin lol
Thanks Randy for sharing

Can you imagine all those coins being worth a lot 10 years from now? It is a thought.

When McDonald's does it!!! oh man, look out!

@hilarski - Sire, very interesting information. You are a good guy Sire, that's why you are sharing those valuable news Sire. I will buy this coin Sire.

+W+ [UpVoted & ReSteemed]

what i just heard is this real :O :D

I'd be skeptical of investing in a Russian coin, many of the Russian ICOs have been scams, much more than anywhere else.

Great topic Thanks for sharing
