The largest movie theatre chain in Thailand is going to add cryptocurrency to its payment system.
Media reports say Major Cineplex will integrate crypto payment and is building a digital payment ecosystem with Swiss payment company Rapidzpay.
Using this system, customers will be able to pay for its services and products, including movie tickets and popcorn, in cryptocurrencies.
Major Cineplex, founded in December 1995, has 143 theaters across Thailand and 43 of which are in Bangkok.
As the authorities in Thailand have started regulating crypto businesses, the Thai Securities and Exchange Commission is accepting license applications from cryptocurrency operators for last one week.
