Centralized Platforms and Restrictions

Earlier this morning, eSteem Twitter account @esteem_app was restricted, it was also reported by an eSteemian, @foxkoit. I noticed this trend has been flowing on crypto projects Twitter's account or profile with a crypto niche.

Last week, I was making a retweet with my Twitter account and after it was successful, I got redirected to the page which showed me Your account is temporary restricted! I had to go through some verifications that had been done in the past to revive my account. Just imagine it, if I wasn't with my phone at the time of the restriction to confirm the details requested and I needed to make an important task, the story would have been different. The restriction stuff might have caused so many lives, who knows! And since most people don't know alternative yet.

To some people they say no crypto project is completely decentralized other than #Bitcoin, even if that's true, decentralized platforms like #Steem are far away better than traditional centralized platforms like Twitter and Facebook.

Though centralized platforms are still in vogue due to the number of users using it I know this will switch to decentralized platforms anytime soon and those crypto projects will not bother to request a task through centralized platforms anymore.

I hope a gigantic number of people on centralized platform realize this sooner about how valuable it's to be on a platform without restrictions and then make a switch to decentralized platforms. This will certainly happen, it’s inevitable but only after cryptos gain mass adoption.

They should be able to tell you why... haven’t happened yet with me but I guess it can happen to anyone.

What I dislike is that we can’t “sometimes” know the real reasons this “unusual activity” is for sure. And that sucks...

Happened to me on twitter, instagram and facebook. And they very rarely tell you why, at best they apologize and reactivate it.

The blocking stuff pisses me off
