I've been asked for my analysis into other tiny cap coins that I think have a lot of potential. First, it's important to note that this is not financial advice and I do have a small stake in this coin. I spent the past week looking at coins and I decided that AltCommunityCoin [ALTCOM] is the coin that peaked my interest.
This is the coin I've had on my radar that I've alluded to earlier in the week. It currently has a market cap of 1.3 Million USD and trades at $7.46. This ultra small supply coin (250 THOUSAND) stakes at 180% for the first year and then 50% thereafter (commencing Q1/Q2 2018), but that's not the sole reason I think it has a lot of potential. This coin started out as just a community driven project and most coins were handed out in 10 rounds of weekly airdrops. Subsequently, the coin morphed into a e-sports and gaming coin.
The dev team is not anonymous, though you wouldn't know this from looking at their webpage [spoiler alert: their webpage and whitepaper is terrible] but if you go to their Discord you will see that they are not hiding their identity. The main developer has a Steemit account in which he provides updates and mentioned his identity. I briefly spoke with the development team about some of my concerns and was told that they are working on a revamped white paper and website. The team seems committed to carrying out their vision.
So what is their vision? Well, they are developing a unique gaming app as well as a web wallet that will have an exchange built into it. The web wallet is expected to be released toward the end of Q2 or beginning of Q3 2018. The gaming app, called Sonohub, will launch games, include a chat function and a friend finder. I believe it will additionally be used to advertise, host and broadcast e-sports tournaments, but this is not confirmed. It is intended to bring gamers together and it will integrate the web wallet. Sonohub will continue to evolve and a Voice Over IP [VOIP] feature is planned for future development. The coin aims to be a leader in e-sports tournaments. I must admit that I believe it will be a difficult task for any team to land big e-sports deals but who knows what will happen. Perhaps they will start with small sponsorships which will gain the attention of the big boys, or perhaps they will start a league of their own; who knows where it will take them. Obviously, there is a lot of potential with Sonohub down the road, for instance, the developers could integrate an e-sports betting platform, a P2P gaming lessons exchange and a gaming oriented marketplace. My analysis of the coin is notwithstanding any partnerships with any notable e-sports tournaments; I still think the coin has a lot of potential even without Sonohub.
All of that is awesome, but it IS NOT the reason its my call. It's my call today because on January 20, 2018, the developers plan to release masternodes! Crypto enthusiasts love coins with masternodes because they offer fantastic passive income potential and secure the network. A masternode will require 1,000 coins which is currently worth $7,470 USD. That's a very attractive value for such a masternode for a coin with such a circulating supply. There will not be thousands of masternodes, atleast not for awhile, which could make this an exceptionally valuable masternode. Please note that while the total supply is 250 thousand, there is no max supply to my knowledge, so there will be coins generated past 250 thousand eventually. Just so there is no confusion...
The team has additionally announced another project that they are working on. It's a payment processor. Plugins will be made for WooCommerce, Prestashop, Magento and Shopify. This will allow store owners to accept the ALTCOM or SONO coin as a form of payment.
Finally, I hate the name AltCommunityCoin; I love the idea but just hate the name. Fortunately, they are changing their name to SONO soon. Rebranding often causes us to take a second look or perhaps in this case a "first look". I have seen positive things come from rebranding and think its possible that there will be a sudden pump to SONO following its rebrand, especially if it occurs around the same time that they release masternodes.
So what are the concerns and impressions?
It is difficult to find major announcements related to this project. These issues are easy to address and my expectations are that with a revamped homepage and white paper that a clear roadmap and announcement's section will be presented and updated. Things are moving with this coin but you have to really dig in and be proactive to stay on top of the developments. Major announcements should be featured on the Bitcointalk announcement OP as well as on the homepage but they are actually shared via Steemit or google drive uploads. I compiled links at the bottom for some of the major announcements that most people probably don't even know exist.
I was also not able to find much information on the development team but when asked on Discord, the information was freely shared. I would prefer to see this laid out on the homepage of the project.
The community for this coin is good for a small cap coin but it can do more to promote its coin. My hope is that this will change with the introduction of masternodes.
There is a lot of competition in the e-sports field of cryptocurrencies, including some large ICO's with lots of funding. This is a small coin with developers that still work their regular full time jobs. I did get the impression from Hamukione, the founder, that he is dedicated to carrying out his vision for SONO. Still, it is a concern.
This is a big one, I would like to see the github and trello for the development so that I can see the updates being made. This is the best way to keep track that a coin is actually being worked on as opposed to just being pumped.
Finally, it is my opinion that coins in the 25 million to 400 million supply are best because novice investors may be put off by seeing a large price per coin. That's about it. Tell me what you think of ALTCOM, soon-to-be SONO!
Overall, it's a risky project, as all crypto's are, especially the tiny cap ones. But if you want to take a risk on a tiny cap coin with a lot of potential then I suggest taking a closer look at AltCom. I do believe it has what it takes to really take off. It just needs some better marketing and communication.
