EOS symbol: A Grfx Dsgnr perspective on symbology

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago

EOS is said to be the "Ethereum Killer" and the symbol in their logo actually reflects that sentiment.
Curious if anyone knows what geometric figure their symbol is...anyone? bueller? anyone?

The shape is a newly configured form of the heptahedron (diminished trapezohedron) and Frank Chester is the guy who 'discovered' it.

Also commonly called the 'chestahedron' because (his last name?) of the striking similarity to the human heart (it oddly does too).
Chester also claims that this shape is a poly-plutonic solid and resembles other organic forms of matter.

FrankChester.com for a papukura printout to make your own!
YT also has a few cool videos of the shape.

Below is Chester and a picture of the chestahedron (with a stick on the top) when it is spun, looks like a bell shape...weird.

I do like the fact that a lot more cryptos are using geometric shapes and that seems to make sense in general.I may do more on other logos and symbols in the crypto-world, if this post gains any traction.
Let me know what everyone thinks about particular coin symbols, logos and those you think may not work as well.
