Is viacoin only for fast transactions or more? For transactions we have many alternatives like DASH or it's fork PIVX, which are privacy focussed.

    As far as I know it will only be used for lightning fast transactions. The incorporation of segwit and addition to a ledger wallet should help bring up the value. It is also a low circulated coin that is trading much much cheaper than many coins with similar purposes. And in my opinion it shouldn't be trading under a dollar.
