Sharding method is commonly used in the centralised systems for meeting scalability. Here large database is brake down into smaller databases which can store the data that's with Sharding there is no need to store the data on ledger.

What problems Icechain solving

Icechain is solving scalability problems by giving double layered blockchain technology and providing 100,000 transactions per second. operates smart contracts through EVM. For security purpose it is spending double means platform is protected by distribution of hash power.

All we know that traditional blockchain technology is vulnerable to protect from double spending attacks, why it like this means centralised hash power. But here Icechain is providing at least 50% distributed hash power at one time to sent head of chain means it is able to do double spending attacks. Thus the icechain can give protection against double spending.
