Breaking: (IJCH) SurBTC - "Just Say No to Segwit2x" or "How to Renege and Get Away With It!"

I am JaiChai.
And if I haven't had the pleasure to make your acquaintance, it's very nice to meet a fellow Steemian.
In response to requests from old friends and inline with the current rebranding mania, I am resurrecting the term "IJCH" (Inside JaiChai's Head, meaning: my warped, personal opinion and musings) and adding it as a prefix to the Breaking News title.
I wonder?
Can you really call a return to nostalgia a "rebranding? Maybe a better term would be "retrobranding"? Oh Hell. Whatever."
I'm fully aware that it's a gamble. This "IJCH" thing might be as successful as Antshare to NEO. Or it may nose dive like the Coke - New Coke - Coke Classic debacle!
Only time will tell.
My fellow Steemians, please give me your feedback. No need to be gentle. It's not my first rodeo.
And as my friends have known for years, I do not suffer from a delicate conscience.

It's Really For Your Own Good?
Appearing noble and benevolent, SurBTC - a Chilean Bitcoin exchange - has decided NOT to support Segwit2x.
Citing concerns over the competence of Segwit2x's developers, SurBTC states that they believe in the core developers of Bitcoin.
In the spirit of integrity, safety to all concerned and to promote the longterm viability of BTC, SurBTC will NOT support Segwit2x.
Wow. Sounds rather honorable, no?
IMHO, when someone in authority - especially the government - says, "Don't worry. We know what's best and it's for your own good," I immediately know an imminent assault to my sense of logic and attempt to limit my personal freedoms is inevitable.
Smokescreens, Russian Indian-Givers and Airborne Monkey Wrenches
Let me say this right now: I harbor not one iota of anti-Russian or anti-Native American tendencies.
The above subheading only hearkens to the urban slang meanings of "Double-Talking Obfuscators" and "Those who ask for their gifts back".
When properly researched, one could argue that those urban slang terms are actually misnomers. But nevertheless, most people still believe in their validity.
SurBTC withdraws support for Segwit2x? Doesn't that mean they are going back on their word?
And SurBTC is throwing a monkey wrench into the system:
Instead of giving customers the chance to buy and sell the most successful or most supported iteration of Bitcoin after the hard fork - a la XAPO, SurBTC "Just Says NO" to Segwit2x.
SurBTC states they will allow their Segwit2x-holding customers to sell or withdraw them, but not to buy and add; further emphasizing their disdain and distrust of the whole Segwit2x proposal.
Mass confusion in the cryptocurrency space is surely inevitable, no?
Echoing some of my last statements about this Segwit2x drama, "Me thinks no one really knows WHAT'S REALLY GOING ON."
"Personally, as a non-billionaire, lowly lurker - a snickering lurker, I might add - on the sidelines, there must be some pretty heavy hitters behind this market momentum."
"Only the big players of the inner circle and Creator of the universe actually know all the motives, alliances and financial incentives to cause businesses like SurBTC - and surely others in the future - to flip-flop their positions."
