1- A number of companies listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange revealed their plans to enter the crypto exchange business for the first time. They include one of the most popular budget-managing app operators, an entertainment conglomerate, one of the largest music labels, and a medical corporation. These corporations join other public companies that previously announced their plans to launch crypto exchanges such as SBI Group, Line Corp, and Yahoo! Japan.
2 - The US Department of Justice has launched an investigation into possible crypto price manipulation by crypto traders. The DOJ’s prosecutors are working in partnership with the Commodity and Futures Trading Commission to probe the matter. The DOJ believes that digital currencies are highly susceptible to fraud, especially given the sector’s lack of regulation.
3 - Personal care product company owned by Unilever, Schmidt’s Naturals is accepting Bitcoin as an online payment option. The company may allow purchases to be made with other cryptocurrencies in the future.
4 - National Settlement Depository (NSD) with Sberbank CIB will be testing the ICO technology on the regulatory platform of country’s central bank. Russian authorities are working on creating a more transparent crypto market space in order to bolster institutional investors in its demanding crypto market
5 - South African money manager Sygnia Ltd. said it intends to start a cryptocurrency exchange in the third quarter of this year to tap growing interest from investors in the country in digital currencies.
