Hello, Steemians, I hope you are doing great today.
I have not had much time to explore #steemit more lately as everyday chores and family life make each day too short. But I promise I will learn!
Yesterday I had my dialysis session and had time to think a bit why I came to Steemit. Well, basically it was my husband who suggested I should sign up here. He is much smarter than I am and understands what blockchain is while I am still trying to figure it out and I must admit I am not very successful, haha. He is also a big fan of #cryptocurrency and keeps saying that so-called fiat currencies belong to the past and the future belongs to cryptocurrencies. My opinion on this is unsettled because as I have already mentioned, my knowledge is too limited or, honestly, it almost non-existent yet. And I have my doubts.
Today it is one of these days when I cannot stop myself from thinking where we could be now if my husband had not done something ridiculous in the past. I could be writing to you from a lovely house somewhere hot and sunny, like Hawaii or at least Spain. Or Mauritius. Or any other place I have been dreaming of. And believe me, there are lots of such places as I am a big dreamer, literally. 😄
It was several years ago, I think in 2011, when my husband heard about #bitcoin. He was fascinated with the idea and started trading. He bought some bitcoins and was very excited about the future. He kept on telling me that in a few years bitcoin would be zillion US dollars worth and we would be rich.😁 Cool, huh. I was skeptical but well, he enjoyed it so much.
And then... Kaboom! He sold all the bitcoins he had (and there were quite a few) and seemed to forget about cryptocurrency for a couple of years.
We have had a tough time financially lately (I got sick, there were some other problems) so when I recall his selling these bitcoins I get really upset. Why, oh, why did not he leave them as some kind of investment? But well, he did not and there is nothing we can do about it.
Nevertheless, he returned to the world of #crypto and is never going to abandon it again. And he wants me to join it. This is one of the reasons why I am here. But I have discovered that Steemit is much more than cryptocurrency and blockchain, thus I will keep digging into it.
Cheers!
Interesting story. Start learning. It's a lot of new stuff.
