Birdchain is a new decentralized instant messaging application for Android. It claims that it will give its users the opportunity to earn extra income by selling their unused SMS messages, watching promotional videos, and monetizing their personal data. The team states that personal data is already being smartly used by companies such as Google and Facebook. So the idea is, the Birdchain Decentralised Application (DApp) users will be able to choose which data exactly they want to sell and generate income from it.
This strikes me as (potentially) a very controversial idea, especially in the eyes of the mainstream media. So far, reactions to the DApp seem to be generally favourable however, which is promising. This is the first DApp I've come across, and the concept itself seems intriguing. A DApp, as the Birdchain team describes it, is "...the next logical step in the evolution of blockchain technology." I may delve more into this topic in a later post.
They are currently running a bounty programme, where you can grab yourself 420 BIRDS for ever referral you make. If you'd like to sign up, I'd really appreciate it if you used my personal referral link that's posted below this.
