Hi, worthlessartist. You can run your store locally on your computer or you can use third party hosting services. Soon there is going to be new version 2.0, where some things are going to be better and easier for vendors. If you or your friend will have problems with installation you can ask developers and other helpful OB members on https://openbazaar.slack.com/.
