Why are banks still indecisive when it comes to the issue of operations with cryptocurrencies?

Cryptocurrency is booming, there is no doubt about that. But is this going to be the next big "housing" bubble? Or is everyone going along with the FOMO hype, working a normal day job then transforming into pseudo-day-trader by night? Why haven't [most] banks / financial institutions taken this same leap of faith and boarded the crypt-train?
