The Island: Privateers.life — The first MMO game with an economy based on the blockchain

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago

Privateers.life — is a multiplayer online game (MMO) representing a realistic survival simulator in the harsh XVII century with a detailed game world, event logic, elaborated intelligence of the NPC and a full-fledged gaming economic system.

The player will not only be able to live the life of an ordinary inhabitant of a 17th century pirate settlement, without any restrictions (courtesy, law, morals, tactics and strategy), but also to earn Ludum tokens (LDM).

Ludum (LDM, from Latin "Gaming") is a combination inside the game currency and a full payment means, which can be freely traded on crypto-exchange exchanges.

Interesting facts:

  • The game is being developed more than 190 days live on YouTube, it's more than 900 minutes of air time: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2groOzR8eQmoymLssDiD7w
  • Initially worked on one person, Denis Semenov, now in the team of 4 talented people
  • The game is created by players for players
  • The Island: The Life of a Pirate (The Island: Privateers.life) is only the first chapter of the game
  • More than 3000 not indifferent subscribers are waiting for the release of the game
  • Total will be released 100 million LDM tokens
  • 10.000 LDM = 1 ETH
  • The game will be released on the Steam platform

I, as a fan of survival games, of course participated in ICO and I hope that the guys will make a real masterpiece, so that it was not only interesting to play in it, but it's also profitable to earn on it!

Interesting... I didn’t think that this is how cryptocurrencies would enter the gaming industry. But MMOs are a good fit for them... Love the article!
