Hi friends,
I'm glad to be on Steemit and to show my appreciation, here is an automatically trading index fund script:
https://github.com/laxaddict/Cryptocurrency-Index-Fund/blob/master/Index%20Fund%201_0.py
I firmly believe in wise investing and index funds have historically been the wisest investments. Given the fact that we can buy fractions of a cryptocurrency, we can now just make our own index funds. This is my first iteration of a working index fund.
tldr readers will probably stop here.
What it does: Aims to keep an even distribution between 12 different currencies within a variance of 3%
For example:
Say you have 100 BTC, but you want to diversify your crypto investments. (This works for any amount of crypto you might have, 100 just makes it easier)
This program will find the top 12 volume currencies which are shared between CoinMarketCap and Poloniex, but for ease, we'll use 4)
The code will find the top 4 currencies (we'll say are hypothetically BTC, ETH, ZEC, VTC)
It would then buy equal amounts of each (25 BTC worth)
25% BTC
25% ETH
25% ZEC
25% VTC
we'll say hypothetically that VTC takes off and does great and the rest stay the same exact price, then the allocation would look something like this:
23% BTC
23% ETH
23% ZEC
31% VTC
If VTC is above the variance (which defaults to 3%), then it would sell the VTC to make the distribution more even.
If you have any questions at all, I'd love to answer them!
