We don’t want to “choke” the Ethereum network like CryptoKitties did, but we aim to be bigger than that because we actually have a real life application and that’s safeguarding your private keys, seeds, recovery phrases… you know, the “little” things that preserve your access to your cryptocurrency.Look, don’t get me wrong, CryptoKitties are adorable and one of the world’s first games to be built on blockchain tech — also, a massive success — but at the end of the day, it’s just a game. Infinitus is a dApp with a real use case and function: a vault for your private keys. Cue the geek talk:
dApps — A Quick Word
The concept of dApps is still in its infancy, so we don’t have a “consensus”, unique definition. What is clear is that dApps are applications built on blockchain, and thus decentralized, connecting users and providers without the need of a middleman.Think about this: when you download a “classic” app from Google Play or the Apple App Store, you depend on its creator to provide continuous functionality. For example, if Uber Technologies INC. would cease to exist, then the Uber mobile app would become useless. As opposed to that, a dApp is decentralized software that runs on a peer-to-peer (P2P) network and cannot be controlled by a single entity.Most dApps, including Infinitus, are built on the Ethereum protocol (ERC-20), so Ethereum has become the go-to platform for dApp developers, mainly because it was meant to facilitate dApp creation from the beginning (it is even stated in Ethereum’s whitepaper that its intention is to create a protocol for the creation of decentralized applications, focusing on scaling, security and development).
Infinitus — The Problem-Solving dApp
Infinitus is an ERC-20 based dApp which allows its user to store encrypted digital data on a decentralized network and transfer his/her private data to a designated receiver upon a predetermined triggered event. You will be able to easily find it in the App Store or Google Play, download and start using it, just like any other classic app.The “fuel” is the Infinitus (INF) Token, which acts as a key for your vault (repository). One INF Token activates one repository; let’s call it a storage space for your private data. Once you activate your dApp and type in your data (private key, recovery phrase, seed, pin code, etc.), it will be encrypted, fragmented, replicated and distributed on a decentralized network. When you need it back, the tiny bits will be gathered from across the network, put together again and sent to a designated receiver.
This is how it works in real life: once you download the INF Mobile App, you will need to type in your Private Key (or any sensible data that you are looking to protect) and then define a pre-set inactivity period — let’s say 30 days for this example. If the INF Mobile App detects an inactivity, it automatically triggers the Ethereum Smart Contract and eventually (in this case, after 30 days), it will gather your data from across the network, then send it to the email address you provided upon activation. In other words, the “trigger” is your INF Mobile App: if you drop your phone into the sea, it will stop working, so the INF App will automatically detect the inactivity, thus starting the countdown. But don’t worry, you don’t need to drop your phone into the sea to get your private keys back. You can simply log out of the INF App and it will detect the inactivity, so it will start the countdown.
Of course, being a true dApp, we don’t have any access to your data, we cannot retrieve your password/private keys, we cannot modify your pre-set trigger event. It is all handled by an Ethereum Smart Contract and File System Distributed Ledger Technology (FSDLT). The files stored are protected by AES1024, which is military grade, state-of-the-art encryption program.All of this will be done in a very user-friendly manner because ease of use is one of our main goals, on top of functionality and security. We’ve designed our Infinitus dApp to be as simple to use as any mobile app, so it is built on blockchain technology, but you don’t have to be extremely tech-savvy to use it. After all, we want to solve problems, not create more by giving you headaches.

The launch of the mobile application is approaching fast, with version 1.0 set to hit Google Play Store tentatively by end of June 2018; and Apple App by end of October.
