Tried and Tested: Moon Series vs CoinPot mining, and exchange compared with EoBot

in cryptocurrency •  7 years ago  (edited)

Hello Steemians!

I am really sorry that I have been away for so long as I have been utterly stuck with work and with hardly any sleep. My friends like @fanpandadesign and @elizacheng would have seen me rather half dead when we met last Wednesday for lunch; or @bitrocker2020 spotting me online in the middle of the night (along with the rest of #theunmentionables team)

Eliza’s food with the kids while we waited for ours

As my challenge has come to a conclusion (yay for server migration!) I have noticed that our dear discord of the Unmentionables have been asking several interesting question between cloud mining and faucet gleaning.

As Eliza could testify it, I have always been an avid supporter of the Moon series faucet collection as far as 2.5 years back; and since then as the mining difficulties increased, so was faucet collecting.

Gone with the days when we can collect 1,000 satoshi almost every faucet collection. Sad.

And because other faucets like Faucet Box that has already been phased out about a year and a half ago so I have been less keen to really glean.

Until there came the new kid of the blog, The Coinpot

And since Panda and Eliza was talking so much on mining from coinpot, I have decided to give a minor test on how efficient it is.

So, here is what I have done, I didn’t truly screen capture it, but since my server was still right beside me I managed to “give it a try” especially CoinPot has this REALLY AWESOME feature of mining without logging in, and there’s no advertisements!

So this is what I have noticed:

on a 20-28 hash rate per second on a 4 thread mining, every 10 minutes I earned an AVERAGE of 250 litoshi (0.00000250 LTC)

on a 20-28 hash rate per second on a 4 thread mining, every 10 minutes I earned an AVERAGE of 0.1 DOGE (not too bad)

However, attempting to mine BTC via coinpot is FUTILE! I can tell you that, and @fatpandadesign can attest to it too!

And what can we get from moon series in 10 minutes?

The screen shots taken my me during the experiment below says it all!

So should we abandon CoinPot mining?

Absolutely Not!

Coinpot actually has its true usefulness especially when it has another AWESOME feature that you can exchange your LTC and DOGE to BTC without any fee

YES. No fee.

Let the pictures explain to you better.

So to compare between EoBot’s conversions, CoinPot actually wins compared to EoBot (for Litecoin), as per today’s exchange rate.

While it actually loses in profit even with EoBot’s 5% exchange rate for DOGE coins.

So there you go, there are indeed some pros and cons for Coinpot, although it may not be the best for mining, but it sure works pretty well as a central collection for Moon Faucets Series and a good exchange point to BTC since it has yet another AWESOME feature where you don’t need to be charged with mining fees if you are withdrawing 0.0005 BTC and above.

How would I be using it in summary?

  • Run LTC mining in the background (whenever my laptop is free)
  • Collect faithfully at Moon series faucets, and mine BTC from Moon Bitcoin when my laptop is free
Note: Avast will not allow it to work, while Avira, AVG we can temporary disable web protection to let it mine.
  • Convert it to BTC in Coinpot when needed (especially to paper wallet for savings, especially > 0.0005 BTC)

I hope you have enjoyed reading my experiment's conclusion as much as I have enjoyed preparing it.

Thank You For Your Time

Oh no. I've been converting to doge lol.

You mean in coinpot, @swolesome ?

Because anything inside EOBOT, only DOGE has the lowest withdrawal fee (provided you have 100 DOGE); while in coinpot you can always convert BTC / LTC to DOGE when its value is low.

I am converting to BTC is because I am withdrawing to paper wallet to set aside (especially for the coming fork)

Hope that clarifies it better?

It does. I convert to doge to withdraw to eobot.

If that is the case then only convert when doge's value is lower, that could actually help you to get more DOGE and will be more useful in EoBot if you are boosting 24 hours.
