IOTA is a popular cryptocurrency that started as a ICO (Initial Coin Offering). In this post I would like to bust two popular myths about it.
There is no official wallet for IOTA
Wrong.
Desktop wallet application is the official one. It is available here: https://github.com/iotaledger/wallet/releases
There are versions for Windows, Linux and MacOS with source code downloadable. It is considered stable. As you can see on linked website user that posts messages about new releases is "domschiener". His actual name is Dominik Schiener and he is one of the founders of IOTA project.
Off course there are some other, unofficial IOTA wallets being developed. There is even a hardware wallet development on it's way.
IOTA is cryptographically buggy and can be hacked
Wrong.
There were some potential issues with curl hashing function but IOTA is no longer using it (note that curl hashing function has nothing to do with Linux curl command). Just make sure you use newest wallet software and you are safe. Well... safe as you can be. Obviously if your computer has viruses it may steal any cryptocurrency you use. It can capture the seeds you're entering, private wallet bitcoin keys and so on. So the basics are: keep your computer clean and get yourself some anti-virus application. It's always on you, not on IOTA or any other cryptocurrency.
But why people think IOTA is unsafe? Well this is because the news about potential problems with curl spread just lately, long after IOTA has dropped it. People think that this is a new discovery therefore they repeat the sentence about IOTA safety.
Don't believe in myths, verify the information you get and stay tuned. ;)
Thanks for your thoughts!

If you want to help the IOTA network, there is a tool now to help confirm more transactions. It can be run in a browser by downloading a zip and running it on your PC (in a browser).

Nice one. IOTA is cryptocurrency from next generation. I predict the price will rise over 1$ or more. Cryptocurrency without taxes for internal transactions. Who dont want no taxes for transactions?
