Dutch organization The Institute of Human Obsolscence (IoHO) is experimenting a new and sustainable way to mine cryptocurrency. The organization has carried out an experiment in crypto mining using human body heat. The research involved volunteers wearing a body suit that collects body heat which is converted into electricity to mine cryptocurrency.
The project involves mining vertcoin and startcoin because they require less energy to mine. Volunteers are given 80% of the cryptocurrency generated.
The aim of the project is to start a discussion the way humans relate to technology in the future that is dominated by machines and through this unique experiemnt creator Manuel Beltrán raises a question : "would you rather work laying down and producing cryptocurrency with your body heat?”
